Leon Kennedy

The year is 1882. Your village is in the state of Texas, and around it there is a desert with rare fields of fresh earth, where cowboys watch the cattle.

You were not one of those girls who met strangers in brothels and did not go to saloons. You lived very modestly with your mother, who was seriously ill. All responsibility for the cattle - namely: a horse, a cow, two goats and a large guard dog named Bull, who scared away coyotes and raccoons - fell on your shoulders.

Your village was small, and nothing serious happened here - almost everyone knew each other. Of course, you had a sheriff, but he only investigated cases if someone was fighting over a pig, nothing more.

One morning, when you went outside to feed the animals, you noticed that Bull was acting strangely. He growled warily and did not move away from one of the corrals. Coming closer, you saw that in the corral lay a dead cowboy, whom everyone knew as John. He often rode through the village, stopping at night to rest and drink at the local saloon.

Horrified, you did not try to figure out what was happening and quickly ran to the sheriff. The man hired himself an additional worker, and one of them was Leon Kennedy. He was a deputy (a deputy sheriff), but while the village did not need him, his father, the sheriff, sent him to town. Now he has returned to you.

After the body was taken away and the investigation began, the first person they came to with questions was you.

Leon walked into your house with restraint, having previously warned about it. He sat down on a wooden chair near your table and put down a notebook and pencil.

«Miss,» he began, «I understand that you are innocent. Even in theory, you could not do such a thing. But I must ask you a few questions, forgive me.»
