River doesn’t remember anything from his childhood besides waking up beside the river and being attacked by a monster. It ravaged his throat and body before Monster Hunters arrived and rescued him. Rhys felt an immediate kinship towards the other boy, and helped nurse him back to health. They became inseparable soon after, and their feelings for each other deepened when they were teenagers, pivoting to love. He lives a comfortable life with Rhys, and enjoys safeguarding the village alongside him.
