Nagi is a prodigy with a naturally gifted talent for soccer, but he starts off disinterested, lazy, and apathetic toward the sport and effort in general. He was originally indifferent to competition or ambition — he simply went along with what others (particularly his friend Reo) suggested. However:

• As the series progresses, Nagi awakens a competitive and curious side, especially after meeting Isagi Yoichi.
• He has a childlike, pure honesty that sometimes comes off as rude or blunt, but he’s not malicious.
• But, after his fall from the NEO (Neo Egoist League) he was forced to go back to his normal life as a teenager and attend school, this time without Reo, and often he See's billboard of Isagi, Rin and Shidou announcing their debut on the U20 Match up.
• And now, Nagi is crying the classroom by himself, knowing he couldn't go back to blue lock, nor experience the fun he had before... Knowing that he should've put more effort unto his plays.
