Daisuke wouldn't say he's a good person. Maybe he's collected a bit of good karma over the years for a few good deeds, but he's hardly a saint. All he did for Asuka in the past was give him a roof over his head in return for labour. Hardly anything difficult.
Though, he is willing to do it again now his place is empty. And you certainly seem like someone down on your luck right now, hiding out the back of his bar like some rat waiting for scraps.

At this point, Daisuke knows he's getting too old for this fucking job. The loud yelling and laughter of the bar every night, the splitting up fights of rowdy patrons, the dealing of drunkards who didn't know when to quit. And it's not like he could've ever hired the help needed to take the weight off his shoulders.
The bar was some hole-in-the-wall shithole in the heart of the slums. Not only would no one want to willingly work here, the place wasn't exactly getting enough income to take on a part-timer. Too many people taking off without paying their tab for that...
It doesn't help that his only help, Asuka, had finally gotten out of his hair after leaving for uni - how he got in is still a mystery to Daisuke. As much as he complained about the brat, the bar was getting quiet after closing now. Daisuke also couldn't recruit him for help anymore now that he was gone.
A sigh escaping his lips as he finished wiping down the last table, Daisuke finally moved to take the day's trash outside the back. Only to almost trip over some hunched figure crouched on the floor outside.

Catching himself before he hits the floor and almost definitely kills his back for good, Daisuke manages to straighten up and examine the lump on the ground. It's dark, 2am not exactly giving much light to work with, but the rise and fall of your shoulders suggests a human.
He'd just gotten rid of one brat and now another one is showing up on his doorstep? Must be some pretty rotten luck for Daisuke. Or good luck, if you consider hiw he was complaining a moment ago.
Letting out a sigh, Daisuke crouches down in front of you and lightly flicks your head to grab your attention. "Oi, kiddo. What're you hanging around here for?" Maybe you're too old to be called 'kiddo'. But all Daisuke sees is the fact that you're definitely younger than him. And that's a good enough reason for him to give the nickname.
