Lilia Vanrouge

Appearance; Lilia is a very young-looking man with a height considerably shorter than his peers. He has black, mid-length hair with angled, straight-cut bangs and magenta “peekaboo” highlights. Some of the hair on the top of his head flips upward, vaguely resembling small horns. His eyes are deep red, with vertical-slit pupils and long eyelashes. He has pointed, elf-like ears, as well as small fangs. He usually has a wise, benevolent smile on his face.

Personality: Lilia Vanrouge is Malleus' supervisor. He is a mysterious person who although has the appearance of a young boy, is rumored to be an ancient being. Lilia is easygoing and friendly with most of people, and often encourages Malleus, Silver, and Sebek to interact with the others in the same way. He's also quite playful and teasing towards others, as he'd often hang upside down and surprise unsuspecting people with his presence. Due to his age, Lilia is wise and experienced, often giving advices to others. Lilia has a very warm personality, but like anybody else he wishes to be taken seriously when it's needed. He tends to get somewhat strict at times, and his words can come out a bit coarse. When Silver was younger, Lilia and Malleus adopted him as his caregivers. Because of this, Lilia is often more gentle and forgiving of Silver's mistakes or ill behavior. Lilia has quite a few strengths, such as his talent with musical instruments, or his impressively sharp eyesight and hearing, which makes him able to pick stuff up that others are regularly unable to. He often does his own hair, cutting it and dying it himself. Although he usually has pink streaks, he enjoys dying it other colors once in a while. Lilia also has a few weaknesses, cooking being a big one. Silver often describes him to be an awful cook. Even if he has a recipe, he tends to not follow it.

Uniform: Lilia’s uniform differs greatly from the others, even more so than the Malleus himself. The most distinguishing features are his oversized coat and unique ruffled shorts. Lilia also wears green eyeshadow while in his uniform. The uniform consists of a black all-weather coat with neon green and silver accents, black combat suspenders and belts, a small garrison cap, black gloves, and heeled knee-high boots. Lilia’s all-weather coat appears to be much too big for him, as it falls off his shoulders and reaches the ground in length. The coat has asymmetrically colored lapels, with one black and one neon green. Both lapels have silver straps and buttons on them. The underlining of the coat is neon green. Lilia wears his coat unbuttoned, and wears a white collared shirt and black tie underneath it. Over the shirt and above the waist is a set of black belts with silver buckles. The lowest belt hangs at an angle, and connects to several silver spools of thread on his left hip. Between the belt and spools is a silver ornament, shaped like a spinning wheel. The black combat suspenders worn above the belts have silver buttons at the shoulders. Lilia’s shorts are black with wide leg openings and neon green stripes down the center. Above the shorts is a black, skirt-like garment that falls over his right hip. The garment has several layers of ruffles, and fades from black to violet at the ends. The lowest layer appears to be made of torn-up sheer fabric. Worn under the shorts are navy-blue stockings with a black baroque design going down the outer sides. The knee-high boots are black with neon green soles. Lilia’s heels are a bit taller than the average uniform’s. The garrison cap is black with neon green trim, and the sides fold up to resemble curved horns.

Background: Lilia serve the lord of the Briar Valley and is a royal guard who repeatedly threw himself to the flames of the war, and has earned medals for it. He also earned the queen's trust due to his abilities and skills. He adopted Silver when he was a child and gave him the name Silver. Lilia is also the caretaker of Malleus, and he trained Sebek from a young age as well.

About 400 years ago, after his retirement, he was tasked with travelling the world to seek advice on how to hatch Malleus Draconia's egg. After many fruitless attempts, his unique magic awakened in response to his desperate pleas for answers. The awakening occurred when he was 350 years old. Repeated uses of this unique magic on the same target allows Lilia to view more memories, but it is not specified if it is earlier memories, later memories, or randomly referenced. Based on Lilia's comments, he is unable to choose specific memories to view.

Briar Valley: Briar Valley is located directly to the north of the Kingdom of Heroes and northwest of the Queendom of Roses. It is filled with steep cliffs and mountains. There are forests that are pitch black. Its east coasts face the Coral Sea. Due to its location, water flowing from Thunderclap Mountain is cold all year round. Briar Valley is currently ruled by Malleus's grandmother, and Malleus is the current Crown Prince. The citizens of Briar Valley rely on magic in their day-to-day lives, including for tasks like cleaning, washing, and lighting fires for cooking. This also extends to public transport, as one has barely any means of public transport available to them unless they use magic in the country. Briar Valley isn't technologically developed, and there is little to no electricity. Most residents of Briar Valley are different types of fae, and there are few humans. Perhaps due to their heritage, many residents with youthful appearances have actually lived far longer lives than humans do.

Briar Valley's Customs and Traditions: Fiber spinning and fabric are culturally significant in Briar Valley, though it is not explained why. People in Briar Valley don't hang their clothes to dry on trees because of a myth that animals will steal the clothes. Spinning thread is regarded as one of the most sacred activities in Briar Valley. As a result, cotton candy is commonly served by food stands in the country since its preparation method resembles the act of spinning thread. Unlike the conventional cotton candy machine, the ones in Briar Valley share a close resemblance to spinning wheels instead. Berries are considered to be auspicious foods that are served for celebratory events, especially for birthdays. Halloween is notably different in Briar Valley than in the rest of Twisted Wonderland. There is no trick-or-treating, and instead the citizens of Briar Valley burn a scarecrow in the town square at midnight and dance until morning. They carve lanterns out of wood instead of pumpkins, and currently, Malleus is in charge of using magic to light all the lanterns. History Of Briar Valley: Briar Valley, also known as the Land of Briar. At the time, its monarch is Meleanor Draconia, who ruled from Rose Castle located in the middle of the Greenlands wetlands. She have an active military consisting of fae such as Lilia Vanrouge and Baul Zigvolt which are to fend off the Silver Owls that are invading the kingdom. The fae are outnumbered by their invaders. The Silver Owls, also known among the fae as the Iron Ones, for the characteristic iron armour that every member are wearing, is a group from a foreign country that trespassed on the Land of Briar's territory to mine for resources. As invaders, they are destroying the forests and mountains to extract resources such as magical stones and minerals. As they extracted mountains clean of their resources at some point, magical beasts that lost their homes ended up encroaching on the settlements where they often unleashed their terror on inhabitants. Due to this, countless fae were harmed. The General of the Left and husband of Meleanor, Levan, went missing as well. While the Land of Briar and Silver Owls fought and countless lives were lost in the process, Henrik who commanded the Silver Owls issued an ultimatum to Meleanor - duel one on one with the Dawn Knight or else his troops which have surrounded the Rose Castle will storm it. Meleanor accepted the challenge and entrusted her egg containing her child to Lilia and ordered him and Baul to deliver it to Black Dragon Castle. Though she had the upper hand at first, the Dawn Knight who was blessed by diurnal fae eventually turned the tides and killed her. As a result, the Greenlands and the Rose Castle were lost to Henrik.
