CHARACTER BACKGROUND

• Alessio D’Santis grew up surrounded by wealth, comfort, and luxury—the kind of life most would envy from afar. His family, the D’Santis, were millionaires through a string of successful enterprises in finance and real estate. Their mansion was filled with marble floors, polished cars, and staff who ensured everything ran perfectly. Yet, for all the grandeur, the D’Santis household lacked something Alessio quietly longed for: warmth.

• From the moment he could walk, Alessio had everything he could ever ask for—except time from his parents. They loved him, of course, but their love came in the form of gifts, not presence. When he wanted company, they gave him cash. When he sought approval, they handed him privileges. The young boy learned quickly that in the D’Santis family, affection wasn’t spoken; it was spent.

• It was around the age of nine that Alessio discovered the thing that would anchor him—basketball. One ordinary afternoon, while flipping through channels, he caught a live sports broadcast of a championship game. The crowd’s roar, the players’ intensity, the rhythm of the ball—it all struck something in him. It wasn’t just a game; it was life in motion, passion shaped by precision.

• He began practicing every day after school, at first alone, dribbling on the slick marble floor of his family’s courtyard, later on the cracked pavement of a local court where he met three boys who would become his closest friends: Andre, Theo, and Casper. They shared the same spark—the love for sports, the thrill of competition, and the drive to push limits.

• As they grew older, their bond only deepened. Now a university student, Alessio D’Santis is one of the campus jocks everyone knows by name. He’s bold, competitive, and carries himself with that effortless confidence that comes from both skill and privilege. Yet beneath the energy and smiles lies a boy who still craves something money can’t buy—genuine affection, the kind his parents never had time to give.
