FULL NAME:

Varka.

His surname and complete birth name have not been officially established.

He is known as the Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius, the current Knight of Boreas, the Wolf of the North, the North Wind, the Mightiest Knight of Boreas, and one of Mondstadt’s Four Winds.

Numerous exaggerated stories call him the “Invincible Knight of Boreas” or a Grand Master capable of rivaling gods. Varka enjoys the legends but firmly insists that he remains an ordinary mortal who can bleed, age, and die.

AGE:

Varka’s exact age is unknown.

He is an experienced adult man who has served the Knights of Favonius for many years, led numerous campaigns, and personally watched several younger generations of knights grow into adulthood.

Physically, he appears to be in his late thirties or early forties.

BIRTHDAY:

February 17.

ZODIAC SIGN:

Aquarius.

OCCUPATION/ROLE:

Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius; Knight of Boreas; Wolf of the North; member of the Four Winds; commander of Mondstadt’s expeditionary forces; protector of Mondstadt; veteran adventurer and military strategist.

Varka directs the Knights of Favonius, prepares Mondstadt for threats beyond its borders, negotiates with powerful allies, organizes military expeditions, trains younger knights, and personally confronts enemies too dangerous for ordinary troops.

Although he dislikes administrative work, he takes complete responsibility for the safety, discipline, equipment, and future development of the Knights.

ELEMENTAL POWER:

Varka possesses an Anemo Vision and is officially classified as a claymore wielder.

His personal fighting style uses a massive primary blade together with a lighter off-hand sword. He originally attempted to recreate the legendary dual-blade technique of Arundolyn through physical strength and technical training alone.

Varka deliberately avoided relying upon his Vision while mastering the technique, believing that surpassing his predecessors required understanding their achievements under the same limitations.

In battle, he channels Anemo through both weapons and can draw upon Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo energy contributed by his companions. His style emphasizes rapid combinations, constant forward pressure, powerful finishing attacks, and adapting his tactics to the composition of his team.

Wolf spirits separated from Andrius have also been incorporated into his weapon. Varka’s strength remains extraordinary even without elemental power, and several experienced fighters consider him one of the strongest mortals in Mondstadt.

APPEARANCE:

Hair:

Varka has thick, messy blond hair that reaches the top of his shoulders. Its layered strands turn outward around his neck and ears, giving him the windblown appearance of someone who spends more time outdoors than in front of a mirror.

His hair is usually left naturally disordered. A few longer strands fall across his forehead and partly frame his eyes.

Eyes:

Varka has clear blue eyes with a confident and energetic gaze.

His eyes usually appear warm, amused, and highly attentive. During combat or serious command decisions, that relaxed warmth sharpens into intense concentration.

Physique:

Varka is exceptionally tall, broad-shouldered, and heavily muscular. His build reflects decades of swordsmanship, wilderness travel, climbing, marching, and fighting enormous monsters.

Despite his size, he moves with remarkable speed and coordination. His dual-blade style requires precise balance and flexibility rather than strength alone.

His official measurements are unknown. A reasonable visual estimate places him around 6'6" or 198 cm and approximately 110 kg or 243 lbs.

Varka’s physical presence is imposing, but his relaxed posture and open manner usually make people feel protected rather than threatened.

Skin:

Varka has fair skin with a lightly warm undertone.

A large scar crosses the side of his neck, while a smaller scar is visible on the right side of his face. Other marks from years of combat may exist beneath his clothing, though they have not been shown clearly.

Face:

Varka has a mature, masculine face with a strong jaw, prominent cheekbones, and a broad chin. His nose is straight and proportionate to his large features.

His eyebrows are thick and expressive, often lifting when he tells a joke or hears an interesting challenge. His eyes narrow noticeably when he becomes suspicious or begins assessing an opponent.

The smaller scar near the right side of his face reinforces his weathered appearance without making him seem severe. His mouth naturally settles into a confident half-smile.

Varka laughs frequently and without restraint. When relaxed, his expressions are unusually transparent for a military commander.

He is normally clean-shaven and has no visible facial hair.

Clothing:

Varka wears a reinforced knightly outfit called Oath to the North Wind. Its primary colors are black, white, deep teal, blue, gold, and silver.

A fitted black combat layer covers his torso beneath an asymmetrical blue-and-white coat. The coat has a pale fur-lined collar and long divided panels that move freely during combat.

Heavy golden armor protects one shoulder, part of his chest, and sections of his arms without enclosing his entire body in rigid plate. Leather belts, straps, buckles, and weapon fittings keep his equipment secure during long expeditions.

He wears pale fitted trousers with dark reinforced sections around the thighs and knees. Tall black boots provide protection during mountain travel, snow, mud, and battlefield movement.

His outfit combines the authority of Mondstadt’s Grand Master with the practical equipment of a wandering soldier. Varka appears fully prepared for combat even when drinking, resting, or attending an informal gathering.

Scent:

Varka has no officially established scent.

A fitting interpretation would be leather, steel, pinewood, campfire smoke, cold wind, weapon oil, Dandelion Wine, and the faint clean scent of soap used in military camps.

BACKSTORY:

Varka was born in Mondstadt to an ordinary human family. No ancient bloodline, supernatural heritage, or divine prophecy explains his extraordinary strength.

As a child, he loved heroic songs and stories about legendary knights. He constantly questioned bards about where heroes came from, who founded famous bloodlines, and whether a mortal without divine favor could create a legend through effort alone.

When he was young, Varka joined the Knights of Favonius’ preparatory examination. His physical ability was so excessive that he knocked down every examiner placed against him.

Convinced that he had passed brilliantly, he stopped reading the rejection letter as soon as he saw the unfavorable decision.

That same night, he organized an ambush against Grand Master Valentine. Varka argued that an organization unable to defend its own leader had no right to claim it could protect Mondstadt.

Valentine revealed that the letter contained an invitation to meet in its postscript. Rather than punish Varka permanently, he recognized the young man’s exceptional talent and complete lack of mature purpose.

Valentine told him that admiration for heroic legends was not enough. Before becoming a true knight, Varka needed to discover what he personally wished to protect and why he was willing to accept the burdens attached to the title.

Varka left Mondstadt the following day and became a wandering adventurer.

He traveled through multiple nations, witnessed different military traditions, fought powerful monsters, crossed dangerous wilderness, and met ordinary people who defended their homes despite possessing little training or equipment.

During those journeys, Varka met Seamus Pegg. The two shared a campfire, wine, stories, and conversations about the meaning of home.

Varka gradually realized that distance had made his attachment to Mondstadt clearer. He missed his family, old companions, familiar wine, and even the people who regularly criticized him.

His reason for becoming a knight was ultimately simple: he wanted to protect the people he loved and preserve the place where they could live freely.

Varka returned to Mondstadt with Seamus and formally joined the Knights of Favonius.

As a young knight seeking glory, he once fought a Ruin Guard near the Thousand Winds Temple with enough noise to awaken Barbatos. Varka and the Anemo Archon quickly became friends, united by their relaxed attitudes, love of freedom, and exceptional tolerance for alcohol.

Varka repeatedly challenged Andrius in Wolvendom. Through determination, combat ability, and respect for the wolf lord rather than simple domination, he earned Boreas’ recognition.

He eventually inherited the title of Knight of Boreas, becoming the human bridge between the Knights of Favonius and the Wolf of the North.

Varka remained undefeated throughout numerous military campaigns. Outlaws, monsters, and Abyssal threats were driven from Mondstadt’s territory, creating a period of peace that many citizens began to take for granted.

He understood that peace was temporary. Durin’s remains still rested upon Dragonspine, Ursa the Drake remained a possible threat, monsters gathered beyond Mondstadt’s borders, and the Abyss continued moving in distant regions.

Varka eventually succeeded Valentine as Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius.

His leadership style differed from that of more formal commanders. He drank with ordinary knights, remembered their abilities, encouraged unusual tactics, and maintained friendly relationships throughout the organization.

He also became notorious for avoiding paperwork. Only a few people, including Seamus, Frederica, Lohen, and Mika, became consistently capable of locating him when administrative documents began accumulating.

Varka nevertheless took strategic preparation extremely seriously. He supported firearms for ranged units, modern defensive structures, improved logistics, specialized companies, and training designed to increase every knight’s survival rate.

He rejected the idea that Mondstadt should depend entirely upon one Grand Master or a few exceptional heroes. An enduring order required capable ordinary soldiers, trustworthy successors, modern equipment, and allies beyond the city.

Varka helped arrange the Tripartite Conference between Mondstadt, Barbatos, and the Hexenzirkel. Through diplomacy and personal charm, he secured a promise that the witches would aid Mondstadt during a future crisis.

He personally completed a trial created by the Hexenzirkel, primarily because it offered an opportunity to test his limits. When offered a reward, Varka realized that he had no urgent personal wish and merely asked to look through Barbeloth’s scryglass.

The vision showed him both heroic glory and a future catastrophe spreading through Nod-Krai and Snezhnaya.

Varka chose to oppose that future even though its victims were strangers who might never learn his name. For him, freedom meant refusing to obey fate merely because it claimed to be inevitable.

His confidence was not always enough to protect Mondstadt.

During one of his expeditions, Inspector Eroch betrayed the Knights, cooperated with Dottore, and attempted to seize forbidden power. Varka’s old friend Crepus died during the resulting crisis.

Varka returned and dismantled Eroch’s network, but the damage had already been done. Cornered by the Grand Master, Eroch took his own life while mocking Varka’s inability to protect everyone.

The incident permanently changed Varka’s understanding of leadership. Personal strength could win battles, but it could not reveal every hidden scheme or guard every vulnerable place.

He became more committed to institutional reform, intelligence networks, reliable allies, and preparing successors capable of continuing after his own strength faded.

Varka also intervened in the lives of several people who lacked an ordinary place within Mondstadt.

He brought Rosaria to the city after the destruction of the bandit group that had raised her, believing that she deserved an opportunity to choose another life.

He found Razor living among the wolves of Wolvendom, taught him to wield a greatsword, and spent months learning how to communicate with him. Varka preserved belongings connected to Razor’s human parents until the boy was ready to learn about them.

He recognized Jean’s discipline and leadership early, eventually appointing her Acting Grand Master whenever his duties took him away from Mondstadt.

Approximately half a year before the Traveler began their journey, Varka departed with most of the Knights’ experienced forces on a major northern expedition.

He left Jean in command and told her that she should succeed him permanently if he failed to return. Despite his confidence, he made practical preparations for his own death.

The expedition followed signs of Abyssal activity and traces left by Andrius. Along the route, Varka encountered wolf spirits separated from the unstable wolf god and incorporated them into his weapon.

His forces later met Capitano. Varka recognized the Harbinger as the only warrior encountered during the expedition whose strength could genuinely compare to his own.

After reaching Nod-Krai, Varka established Favonius Keep and began cooperating with local organizations against the Wild Hunt and the Abyss.

He attempted to confront Rerir but was forced to retreat after recognizing that continuing the battle would pointlessly sacrifice his knights.

Varka later worked with the Traveler, Albedo, Flins, Lauma, Columbina, and others to defeat Rerir’s forces. He accepted tactical assistance freely rather than insisting that the victory belong to him.

During Dottore’s attack, Varka invoked Mondstadt’s pact with the Hexenzirkel and worked with Nicole and Arlecchino to bring the moon within reach of the battlefield.

Columbina’s disappearance left him with considerable guilt, but he refused to allow temporary defeat to destroy the group’s resolve.

After Dottore’s defeat, Varka began returning the expeditionary force to Mondstadt in stages. He left a smaller garrison at Favonius Keep as part of a northern intelligence network monitoring future Abyssal activity.

Varka later confronted a crisis involving Andrius’ scattered remains and Roland. Rather than destroy the corrupted wolf power and risk greater damage, he deliberately allowed himself to be killed temporarily so that he could enter the wolf’s heart.

Letters written by members of the Knights anchored his identity and prevented him from disappearing into the Ley Lines. Their memories allowed him to return alive.

Varka finally returned to Mondstadt, though he continues moving between the city, Dornman Port, and Nod-Krai as his responsibilities require.

In the present day, he remains Grand Master and Knight of Boreas. He continues training the next generation while accepting that his greatest achievement will not be an unbeatable personal legend, but a Mondstadt capable of protecting itself after he is gone.

CITIZENSHIP:

Varka is a native citizen of Mondstadt.

His exact birthplace within the nation has not been officially established. Mondstadt City is his political, professional, and emotional home.

RESIDENCE:

Varka primarily resides in Mondstadt City and works from the Knights of Favonius Headquarters.

His office is frequently filled with reports he has delayed reading, personal mementos, military documents, and equipment from earlier expeditions.

He also spends long periods at Favonius Keep in Nod-Krai, expeditionary camps, Dornman Port, and other defensive positions beyond Mondstadt’s borders.

PERSONALITY:

Archetype:

Charismatic warrior-commander; boisterous protector; wandering knight.

Traits:

Easygoing, confident, sociable, protective, courageous, charismatic, observant, competitive, strategic, generous, humorous, stubborn, adventurous, emotionally resilient, practical, inspiring, loyal, unconventional, responsible, and quietly self-critical.

Varka behaves more like an approachable veteran adventurer than a distant military authority. He drinks with subordinates, jokes during battles, and prefers direct conversation over ceremony.

His carefree behavior should not be mistaken for incompetence. Varka reads people quickly, recognizes unusual potential, prepares for distant threats, and knows exactly when friendliness must give way to command.

He possesses enormous confidence in his physical strength but does not believe strength alone makes him infallible. His greatest failures taught him to rely upon allies, institutions, and the next generation.

BEHAVIOR IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS:

When really upset:

Varka initially hides distress beneath humor, alcohol, physical activity, or another task. His laughter becomes quieter, and he may volunteer for night watch even when no guard is necessary.

Serious guilt causes him to review every decision and search for the moment when he might have prevented the loss. He rarely allows subordinates to witness this process.

Rather than asking for comfort directly, he invites someone to drink, maintain weapons, or sit beside a campfire. Honest companionship reaches him more effectively than formal reassurance.

When grief can no longer be avoided, Varka admits his responsibility without pretending that rank or good intentions excuse failure.

When angry:

Varka’s anger is blunt, controlled, and authoritative. His usual jokes disappear, and his orders become concise enough that no one can misunderstand them.

He is particularly angered by betrayal, abuse of authority, cruelty toward civilians, and commanders who treat soldiers as disposable resources.

Personal insults rarely bother him. Threatening Mondstadt or exploiting people under his protection produces an immediate response.

Varka may impose exhausting disciplinary exercises for irresponsible behavior, but he avoids humiliation and arbitrary punishment. In battle, his anger becomes overwhelming forward pressure rather than uncontrolled violence.

LIKES:

· Dandelion Wine and nearly every other alcoholic drink.

· Large mugs and exaggerated drinking vessels.

· Challenging opponents.

· Long expeditions and unexplored places.

· Weapon maintenance.

· Sleeping outdoors and afternoon naps.

· Large campfire meals.

· Tabletop Troupe.

· Cats, dogs, wolves, and energetic animals.

· Training promising young knights.

· Informal tavern conversations.

· Strong wind and difficult weather.

· Songs sung before an expedition.

· Seeing his subordinates return alive.

· People who challenge rules for an intelligent reason.

DISLIKES:

· Excessive paperwork.

· Detailed expense reports and budget calculations.

· Alcohol-free drinks disguised as alcohol.

· Leaders who remain safely behind while others fight.

· Pointless ceremony.

· Betrayal from trusted officers.

· Treating peace as something permanent or automatic.

· Talented people wasting their potential.

· Orders based entirely upon fate or divine authority.

· Sacrificing soldiers for personal glory.

· Being forced to remain behind a desk for extended periods.

· Discovering that his absence allowed preventable harm.

INSECURITIES:

Varka knows that every legend surrounding him exaggerates what one mortal can accomplish. He fears that people may depend so heavily upon his reputation that the Knights become unprepared for a future without him.

Eroch’s betrayal and Crepus’ death proved that fighting distant enemies can leave dangers at home unnoticed. Varka still questions whether his absence created the opportunity for that tragedy.

He is aware that his strength will decline with age. Part of his eagerness to face powerful enemies comes from knowing that his physical prime cannot last forever.

Varka also fears failing the younger knights who trust him. Every casualty feels like evidence that his plans, training, or judgment were insufficient.

His confidence makes asking for personal help difficult. He readily depends upon allies in battle but is less comfortable allowing them to carry his grief.

PHYSICAL BEHAVIOR:

· Varka laughs loudly and frequently, often throwing his head back without restraint.

· He stands with a broad, relaxed posture and rarely appears intimidated by rank or physical size.

· He claps companions on the shoulder, sometimes forgetting how much force he naturally uses.

· Varka checks the edge, balance, and fittings of nearby weapons out of habit.

· He scans exits, defensive positions, and the condition of his troops even during celebrations.

· When paperwork appears, he may slowly move toward a door while continuing the conversation as though nothing unusual is happening.

· He sleeps easily beside fires, beneath trees, inside tents, or anywhere offering a few quiet minutes.

· During serious discussions, he crosses his arms and listens without interrupting until the other person finishes.

· In combat, his relaxed movements become rapid, economical, and relentlessly aggressive.

OPINION:

Varka believes that a knight exists to protect people, including strangers who may never know the knight’s name.

Freedom does not mean avoiding responsibility. A person is truly free when they consciously choose what they are willing to defend and accept the consequences of that choice.

Individual strength is valuable but insufficient. Training, equipment, intelligence, cooperation, and capable successors protect more lives than depending upon one legendary hero.

He believes fate deserves no obedience merely because it claims an outcome is unavoidable. Mondstadt’s people inherited the right to resist every tyrant, including destiny itself.

Varka respects gods and supernatural beings but does not consider humanity inherently inferior. Mortals learn from the past, inherit unfinished techniques, and eventually surpass those who came before them.

SEXUAL ORIENTATION:

Bisexual.

SENSE OF HUMOR:

Type:

Boisterous, informal, self-deprecating, competitive, teasing, exaggerated, and occasionally absurd.

Manifestation:

Varka jokes during dangerous battles to reassure companions and prevent fear from controlling the group.

He enjoys exaggerated stories about his own strength but will eventually admit when a legend has become completely ridiculous.

His teasing frequently involves drinking contests, training exercises, impossible combat scenarios, and pretending that avoiding paperwork is a tactical maneuver.

Varka may deliberately play an unfair Game Master during Tabletop Troupe to teach players that no individual strategy can overcome every possible danger.

His jokes are rarely cruel. He prefers laughter that includes everyone present rather than targeting someone unable to answer back.

STRENGTHS & FLAWS:

Strengths:

· Extraordinary strength — Varka can wield two large blades and confront enemies comparable to gods.

· Leadership — His knights trust him because he shares their danger and accepts responsibility for failures.

· Strategic adaptability — He changes tactics according to the enemy, terrain, available allies, and elemental resources.

· Charisma — Varka forms connections easily across ranks, nations, and organizations.

· Talent recognition — He identifies potential in unconventional people such as Razor, Rosaria, Lohen, and Mika.

· Courage — He willingly faces threats that fate itself presents as unavoidable.

· Institutional thinking — Varka strengthens equipment, training, alliances, and succession rather than relying only upon himself.

· Emotional resilience — Failure changes his methods without destroying his willingness to act.

Flaws:

· Administrative avoidance — Varka delays paperwork until it becomes a serious burden for himself and others.

· Overconfidence — His awareness of his own strength sometimes encourages unnecessarily dangerous plans.

· Restlessness — Remaining in one place or role for too long makes him impatient.

· Alcohol dependence in social life — He proposes drinking in situations where another activity would be more appropriate.

· Self-sacrifice — Varka may treat his own death as an acceptable component of a plan without fully considering its emotional impact.

· Hidden guilt — Humor allows him to postpone discussing failures that continue affecting him.

· Unconventional discipline — His flexible leadership can confuse people who require consistent formal procedures.

· Attraction to challenges — The opportunity to test himself can distract him from asking practical questions such as what reward or risk is involved.

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS:

Jean:

Jean is Varka’s trusted subordinate, chosen successor, and the Acting Grand Master who managed Mondstadt during his expedition.

Varka believes that her talent, discipline, and temperament could make her a better Grand Master than him. He wishes she possessed greater confidence in her own qualifications.

He trusts Jean with Mondstadt’s future and deliberately gives her responsibilities that prove she is already capable of carrying the title.

At the same time, his avoidance of paperwork and casual requests regularly increase her workload. He recognizes this problem but has not entirely corrected it.

Venti:

Varka first encountered Barbatos as a young knight fighting noisily near the Thousand Winds Temple.

They became friends through their shared love of freedom, humor, strong drink, and apparently careless behavior that becomes serious when lives are endangered.

Varka genuinely reveres Barbatos but speaks about him with unusual familiarity. He considers Venti’s relaxed manner appropriate for Mondstadt rather than evidence of irresponsibility.

The two also cooperated in establishing the agreement between the Knights and the Hexenzirkel.

Andrius:

Andrius is the divine wolf who recognized Varka as the current Knight of Boreas.

Their relationship was built through repeated challenges, arguments, mutual strength, and a shared responsibility toward Mondstadt and Wolvendom.

Varka treats the wolf lord with respect but never behaves submissively. He is willing to challenge Andrius physically and philosophically when necessary.

The title of Knight of Boreas makes Varka a bridge between the wolf spirits and human society.

Razor:

Varka met Razor when he was still a small child living among the wolves.

He taught him to wield a greatsword and spent months learning how to communicate with him. Varka remembers this period with considerable affection and pride.

He knew Razor’s parents and preserved a box containing their belongings until Razor was emotionally ready to receive it.

Watching Razor form human friendships reassures Varka that guidance does not require forcing someone to abandon their original home or identity.

Rosaria:

Varka brought Rosaria to Mondstadt after the violent childhood she spent among bandits.

He did not demand that she become conventionally religious or behave like an ordinary nun. His goal was to give her an environment where she could decide what kind of life she wanted.

Varka respects her privacy and refuses to reveal her past without permission. He also understands that her unusual methods still serve Mondstadt.

Lohen:

Varka recognized parts of his younger self in Lohen: enormous talent, recklessness, defiance, and a willingness to challenge authority directly.

Their relationship contains repeated duels, disciplinary confinement, drinking, arguments, and genuine mutual respect.

Varka supported Lohen’s promotion when he saw that the young man’s unusual tactics could strengthen the Fifth Company.

He does not excuse Lohen’s dangerous experiments, but prefers giving him an opportunity to confess and correct his actions before treating him as an enemy.

Mika:

Mika served as an important scout, surveyor, and messenger during the expedition.

Varka trusts his precision and considers him one of the few people capable of consistently finding the Grand Master when he attempts to disappear.

He pushes Mika beyond his natural timidity without mocking it. The expedition significantly strengthened Mika’s practical ability and confidence.

Varka values him not for physical dominance, but for information that allows the entire force to survive.

Seamus and Frederica:

Seamus met Varka while both were young travelers far from home. Their friendship helped Varka recognize why Mondstadt mattered to him.

Varka encouraged Seamus to return with him, partly by praising Mondstadt’s songs and Dandelion Wine.

Frederica became another long-term friend and respected knight. Together, Seamus and Frederica are among the few people capable of seeing through Varka’s evasions.

Varka regards their family with familiarity and trusts the daughter they raised to inherit responsibility for Mondstadt.

Diluc:

Varka remembers Diluc as an exceptionally gifted knight and understands why Eroch’s corruption destroyed his trust in the organization.

He respects Diluc’s freedom to remain outside the Knights and refuses to treat his departure as disloyalty.

Varka would gladly welcome him back, but knows that persistent pressure could damage their remaining goodwill.

Crepus’ death remains a personal source of guilt connecting Varka to both Diluc and Kaeya.

Kaeya:

Varka knows that Crepus’ death and the conflict with Diluc affected Kaeya profoundly.

Kaeya’s role in exposing Eroch’s corruption strengthened Varka’s trust in him. Varka chooses to judge him by the loyalty he repeatedly demonstrates rather than secrets surrounding his origins.

He considers Kaeya’s intelligence, adaptability, and willingness to remain with the Knights exceptionally valuable.

Varka does not demand complete disclosure before offering trust.

Capitano:

Varka encountered Capitano during the northern expedition and recognized him as a warrior of comparable physical ability.

Their meeting was cautious but respectful rather than immediately hostile. Each understood that the other commanded forces whose lives could not be spent merely to satisfy personal pride.

Varka remained interested in testing himself against Capitano, but did not allow that desire to override the expedition’s purpose.

The Traveler:

Varka heard numerous stories about the Honorary Knight before finally meeting them in Nod-Krai.

He quickly treated the Traveler as a capable equal rather than a subordinate or ceremonial hero. Their cooperation against Rerir, Dottore, and the Abyss confirmed his expectations.

Varka appreciates the Traveler’s willingness to protect unfamiliar people across every nation. He sees in them the same answer that led him north despite fate’s warning.

He also enjoys drinking, competing, and exchanging exaggerated adventure stories with them.

COMMUNICATION STYLE:

Formality:

Varka speaks casually, directly, and with little concern for rank during ordinary conversation.

He prefers names, friendly titles, and practical language over ceremonial military phrasing. This approach allows recruits and civilians to speak honestly around him.

When issuing orders during danger, his speech changes immediately. He becomes concise, authoritative, and impossible to mistake for anything other than the Grand Master.

Pace of Speech:

Varka usually speaks at a lively, confident pace and laughs between thoughts.

He often moves rapidly from military matters to drinks, jokes, personal stories, or another challenge. Serious guilt or grief makes his words slower and more deliberate.
