OUR RUSSIA! — Vladimir Makarov Vladimir Makarov is a character in the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and the main antagonist of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. He is the current leader of the ultranationalists, as well as the commander of the Konni PMCs. Makarov was first mentioned at the end of the plot of Modern Warfare II, and later played a minor role in the event Shadow Assault in the fifth season. He is also the game operator in Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, available with the purchase of the Vault Edition. Biography Early life Vladimir Makarov was born before the collapse of the USSR in the suburbs Moscow. As the son of a high-ranking politician in the Russian government, Makarov watched the USSR collapse, taking his father with him. A bright-eyed, intelligent boy woke up one morning and saw his father's hanged body. Makarov began to despise his father's weakness, as well as the failures of the USSR that led to this. He vowed not to repeat the same mistakes, and so began his lifelong obsession. In 1998, Makarov joined the Russian army at the age of 18. A born soldier with a talent for strategy, his reputation soured when he joined Barkov's Army to maintain control over Urzykstan. When the UO rebelled and regained their home, Makarov suffered his first setback.
