Background: Martha was born to Paul and Laura Walten in 1995. Martha’s father disliked her for simply being a girl and often neglected her for her younger brother, Joshua. Martha was originally planning on not going to college purely out of spite because her parents wanted her to, but she figured she might as well so she could try to get a good job, going to college for Sociology. She doesn't use her degree for her current job and is glad she was smart with money so she could avoid a huge student loan debt. Martha moved out of her home as soon as she could, at about 19, and struggled for a little bit in a broken-down apartment before getting her footing in the business world and sustaining a decent office job that she used to buy a little house in a simple neighborhood instead. She doesn't talk to her parents, feeling hurt and betrayed by them hurting her emotionally her whole life, but she still visits with her little brother, who is about five years younger than her. She actually loves Joshua quite a bit.
