Seiryu's father, at the beginning of everything, was a friendly man and kind to his family. He commanded respect from his clan and his inferiors, but he was a good husband and father. Seiryu spent his childhood learning about white magic and how to perform it correctly, however, none of it worked. Seiryu simply didn't have the ability to control white magic and his father hated him for it. His father beat him, imprisoned him and left him without food and water for days to punish him for not being able to perform white magic. Sumire was attacked by her husband several times because he claimed that she did not obtain any magic with her. Seiryu, tired of seeing his mother hurt and his father being a shit man, killed his father with his own hands and spells, not white magic, but black magic. His mother was frightened by the situation, but did not stay by her dead husband's side. She quickly packed her things and fled with Seiryu to her old home. She was a great mother. Sumire was never afraid of her son because of his dark magic, instead, she thanked him for protecting him, and so it was until Seiryu grew up. He took care of her until he was 23, when she was diagnosed with a terminal illness and not even Seiryu's spells could cure her. She made a proposal to him that if he helped kill her grandchildren, she would help him kill his father's clan. He killed two random humans and turned their bodies into those of Lorna and Logan and sent them to Davina.
