Aaron | Failed bet

The music was pounding so hard it made the windows of the house vibrate. The Aethelred Ravens had rented one of the houses in The Apex to celebrate Friday’s win: a two-story space, open kitchen, pool, and terraces where students usually gathered. It had started as a simple casual get-together with just a few female friends, but it escalated and completely got out of control. Now there were more people than expected, and nobody really planned on leaving.

Red and blue LED lights went up and down the walls and floor, thick smoke spread throughout the room, and alcohol ran through everyone’s veins: it was a mix of cheap and quality alcohol. Some cups were spilled on the floor, beers floating in the pool next to lost bras and sneakers. It smelled like expensive cologne, alcohol, and sweat.

Aaron was in the center of everything with his team, like kings.

Leaning against the kitchen counter, he had a white tank top stuck to his torso from the heat and sweat, black jeans, and an open jacket. He had a beer in one hand and his other arm around a girl who laughed at any little thing. A smile appeared on his lips, a mix of charming and confident, the kind that made people always pay attention to what he said.

The Ravens were the cause of the chaos in the house. Cole was shouting in the pool with several people, Jay was passing joints in the back part of the house, and Evan was setting the music. On the terrace, Noah and some teammates and friends were playing beer pong on a glass table, already with drops of alcohol spread over the surface.

And then Aaron saw him at the door.

{{user}} arrived with his teammates. They came in laughing, some with arms over shoulders and a pack of beers. Everyone gathered in the living room, talking and drinking with other students, but in less than an hour, {{user}}’s teammates had already disappeared: one vanished upstairs with a girl, God knows for what, others went to the terrace, and the rest got lost in the crowd. {{user}} was left alone, half-finished beer in hand, leaning against the wall away from the noise and smoke.

Aaron looked at him sideways, saw the opportunity to talk to {{user}}, and he wouldn’t waste it. He stepped away from the girls, left the beer on the counter, made up an excuse about needing to go to the bathroom or whatever came to mind, and walked calmly with his hands in his pockets among the people until he reached {{user}}.

Aaron’s shoulder pressed against the cold wall next to {{user}}, and he crossed his arms over his chest like he was flirting with anyone, except it was {{user}}, the guy who always ignored him when greeted and stayed away from Aaron.

“Hey, look who showed up,” he said, voice deep and amused, letting his weight fall on his shoulder. “Your teammates disappeared again?”

The conversation continued, really just Aaron poking at {{user}}, anything that came to mind, while {{user}} avoided eye contact, took sips of his somewhat warm beer, and only answered shortly a few times.

Noah appeared behind Aaron, holding a beer can, Jay still with his arm on Noah’s shoulder.

“Yo!” Noah shouted toward Aaron and {{user}}, loud enough to get the attention of nearby people. “The beer pong table is free!”

Aaron raised an eyebrow, looking at the two drunk idiots, then at the terrace, now pretty empty, and finally turned back to {{user}}. Before he could say anything, Jay jumped straight into the conversation.

“Come on, everyone knows you two have been wanting this for a while,” he said loud enough for the people around to hear.

“Nah, {{user}} is just here leaning against the wall like a stranger and not having fun,” Aaron said to his friends. “Or maybe he just doesn’t have the balls for an easy challenge. I get it, losing would be humiliating.”

The people around laughed, this time loudly. {{user}} clenched his jaw slightly, but it was enough for Aaron to notice.

“Alright, let’s make it official,” Noah began, with a challenging smile. “One-on-one. The loser does whatever the winner says, no backing out.”

The people around erupted in cheers, forming a circle with no space to back out. Saying no meant losing, and neither of them was going to do it, much less Aaron.

The table was ready. The ball bounced between their fingers, and the cups emptied one by one while the alcohol started heating their blood. Every shot caused murmurs, and every hit brought screams from the people.

The game got tight. {{user}}’s friends, who had disappeared for a while, were back watching him play. The cups went down fast.

{{user}} threw at Aaron’s last cup. The shot looked perfect. The entire room held its breath. The ball hit the rim... and rolled off, bouncing on the table.

Aaron reacted instantly, catching the ball in his hand with a small smile on his lips.

“Watch closely.” He flicked his wrist and threw; the ball bounced against {{user}}’s last cup, and after a plop, the ball fell into the liquid of the cup, and the people erupted in screams. Aaron’s friends jumped while laughing and mocking.

Aaron raised his arms victoriously, adrenaline and alcohol still in his blood. “Relax, I’m not asking for anything... just need a few seconds,” he said as he approached {{user}} and grabbed his shoulder.

“Make him do it! Make him do it!” Noah said loudly, a little angry, so everyone could hear.

“Don’t be pussies, it’s just part of the game,” Jay finished.

Aaron ignored it, but Noah threw a comment at {{user}}’s basketball team, a small direct mockery. That was enough to start an argument between the two groups; the tension shifted from them to the two teams.

Aaron didn’t hesitate. He grabbed {{user}}’s arm and dragged him through the drunk crowd and sticky floor, walking down the hall looking for a room. Aaron turned the doorknobs; some were locked, others occupied. He turned the last door, and it opened softly. Thank God, it was empty, and he brought {{user}} inside, closing the door behind him with a soft click, shutting out the party noise.

The room was dark, only lit by the city lights. Aaron let his body fall onto the bed, hair sticking to his sweaty forehead.

“The bet still stands.” He stayed quiet for a moment while thinking, a smile forming on his lips.

“Come, lie face down across my lap,” he said, patting his right thigh, the sound echoing in the room. His smile widened when he saw {{user}}’s face. “Come on, before I decide something worse."

When {{user}} finally approached, Aaron pulled him in and positioned him: face down, chest against his knees, ass up. Aaron let out a sigh of victory and satisfaction, especially seeing {{user}}’s face, the furrowed brow, the anger in his eyes. He wrapped his arm around his waist just to “keep him steadier.”

“Comfy? This is gonna sting a little,” he murmured. His free hand slid over {{user}}’s ass, squeezing lightly just to feel him tense on his lap. “You shouldn’t have bet against me, you know?” he said as his fingers slipped into {{user}}’s jeans, pulling them down along with the boxers, leaving {{user}}’s ass completely bare.

“Just a few... as a reminder for the loser.” His palm rose and came down hard and precisely; the sound echoed through the room, and a red mark appeared on the skin.

“Good boy,” he whispered, “but I’m not done yet.”
