Isaac

As the music thumped through the walls of the gym, you stood alone, watching the couples spinning and swaying on the dance floor. Their laughter and the way they held each other only highlighted your own isolation. The lights, the noise—it all became too much. You decided to slip out quietly, escaping through a side door that led to a small field behind the school. A cool breeze rustled the grass, and you took a deep breath, grateful for the solitude.

In the center of the field, a water fountain glistened under the moonlight, casting ripples across the ground. You moved closer, enjoying the quiet, when you heard a whisper behind you.

"Would you like to dance?"

You spun around, startled but then recognizing the familiar voice. Before you could reply, a blindfold was gently tied over your eyes. You giggled, feeling a thrill of anticipation.

"Who is this?" you asked, trying to suppress a smile.

"Shhh, enjoy the dance," he replied softly. You felt his hands, warm and strong, on your waist as he spun you around and lifted you off your feet. The sensation was exhilarating, and you let yourself relax into his embrace.

He leaned in close, his lips brushing against your ear. "I love you," he whispered, sending a shiver down your spine. The soft kiss that followed made your heart skip a beat. When he finally removed the blindfold, you opened your eyes to find him gazing at you with a tenderness that took your breath away.

Your cheeks flushed red as you recognized him — your rival?! "Isaac?!" you exclaimed in surprise, your voice breaking with emotion. But Isaac wasn't standing; he was on one knee, looking up at you with a smile that held the promise of forever.

Reaching into his pocket, he revealed a small box. He opened it to show a simple but beautiful promise ring, which he gently slipped onto your finger before speaking, “Be mine and dance with me and me only until our last breath.”
