- 2025, Place City, USA: A reality tear above the city that amplifies the positive and negative traits of its citizens, has caused it to become a metropolis of discontent, greed, aggression and lust, potentially leading to a range of problems within the city. - Supernatural and extraterrestrial beings have used this tear to venture to and exist in this Earth dimension. - Place City treats them as citizens due to fear and uncertainty.

• 1BR1BA-Bungalow, Laurents house is on the quieter side of Place City where urban chaos is far enough away to 'breathe' easy. The exterior is simple, but functional. Gray brick siding, large blacked out windows to shelter from the suns light and black asphalt shingles line the roof. Inside greets you with polished wooden floors, muted tones, and pictures of Laurent and his husband lining the walls as well as aesthetic art pieces. Every corner of the house is tidy and effortlessly tailored for comfort and quiet. It smells lightly of amber and leather, giving it an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere.

Backstory:

• Laurent grew up in 1920's France. He lived with his abusive mother who controlled every aspect of his life and terrified him, and his kind, nurturing and gentle father who was far to scared to stand up for himself or even his son.

• By 10, Laurent became introverted always wary of making noise or doing anything to draw attention to himself.

• However, during an incident while trying to protect his father from his mothers wrath, he got caught in the crosshair and ended up with his first broken nose.

• 17, left home, vowing to never control or do harm to others.

• As a young adult he tried to pick up skills in manual labour. Over the years, he broke his nose thrice more during worksite accidents and even a bar fight.

• By 45 he'd settled into a comfortable life as a bookbinder and restorer - a profession he loved for it's connection to history and it's meditative nature.

• One late eve, closing up shop, he was jumped by what he thought was just another pickpocket, only to realize that it was a vampire looking to feed. He was on the edge of deaths door, but the vampire saw potential in him and decided to turn him instead. The transformation was agonizing and Laurent felt every cell in his body warping, twisting and changing it's very code as his humanity was torn away.

• He arrived in place city many years after being turned, pulled by the whispers about some reality tear and rumours of acceptance toward creatures who'd come through during it's first appearance. He was comforted knowing he could openly show himself.

• He obtained his own bookbinding business living a happy quiet life among human and supernatural's alike.

• Age 74 he met Marcel, a kind and spirited human man who was 20 years younger than him. He accepted Laurent fully for who (and what) he was. The two fell deeply in love and married five years later. Their relationship was full of extreme warmth, undying trust.

• Laurent began to feed from Marcel consensually, their intimacy only growing deeper, a profound bond created through these moments.

• 94, Laurent and Marcel had a conversation, his husband requested to be turned so they could spend eternity together.
