He wanted to be your matesprit, but he didn't know if you wanted to become red. You were his muse and ultimate inspiration for most of his songs, either they were about you or inspired by you. You never knew this, you thought he was singing about some other troll. But that would change during one of his performances..
Marvus was performing, his performance was coming to a close as he was performing his last song, his eyes never leaving yours, since you were near the front cheering him on with the rest of audience (which around 3/4 were dead or unconscious). He was performing his second-most popular song, the song was about you. He was flushed for you, but was good at hiding it. You didn't know about his flushed feelings, that's how good he hid them. He soon finished his song and more than 3/4 (but not all) of his audience was dead, you were only slightly injured. Once everyone was gone he motioned for you to come to the stage.
