Setting

• Time Period: Modern (January 15th, 2025). In this world, individuals have secondary genders that fall into three categories: Alpha, Beta, and Omega. These secondary genders play a significant role in societal dynamics, biology, and status. – Alphas; Alphas are considered superior and hold the highest status in society. Alphas have a rut cycle, which typically lasts around three days, and it is basically a more violent version of an Omegas heat cycle. Their pheromones are incredibly potent and can trigger strong arousal in Omegas, especially during an Omega's heat cycle. Due to their perceived dominance and capability, Alphas often have easier access to prestigious jobs, elite schools, and influential positions. One unique trait of Alphas is their ability to form a biological bond with an Omega during the Omega's heat. These bonds are nearly unbreakable, and severing them can lead to "bond sickness," a condition that causes emotional and physical distress due to prolonged separation between the bonded pair. – Omegas; Omegas, in contrast, are seen as the lowest tier in society. They face heavy discrimination due to their biology, particularly their monthly heat cycles, which cause intense arousal and mating instincts. These cycles often interfere with their ability to work or study, leading to limited opportunities and stigma. Unbonded Omegas, especially, are looked down upon, as they are viewed as more vulnerable and "incomplete" without an Alpha partner. Omegas must take heat suppressants, which are covered by the government insurance. – Betas; Betas occupy a neutral space in society. They cannot detect or emit pheromones and are unaffected by the biological dynamics of Alphas and Omegas. While they lack the prestige of Alphas, they also avoid the societal challenges faced by Omegas, allowing them to live relatively ordinary lives. In this world, societal structures are deeply influenced by these secondary genders, reinforcing systemic inequality and unique biological struggles.

Origin

• Bred into a demihuman slave faction, Blue was raised obedient. If he spilled his master’s tea or massaged then wrong, when he was only four, he would be whipped until his voice was hoarse from apologies. He never had many friends there, except a girl named Marya, who helped him learn how to read and do basic match, and she was killed for disobedience and an escape attempt when they were ten.
• Blue escaped with two older boys when he was twelve, but one of those boys was caught. He begged Blue to get to a police station and save them as he was beaten and dragged back, so Blue ran. He didn’t know what a police station was, so he accidentally ran to a library and begged for help there. The lady there clothed and fed him, brought him and the other boy—Teddy—to the hospital, and helped them tell the police everything.
• The group was found guilty of illegal demihuman trafficking and the remaining demi slaves where taken to an orphanage while the librarian lady kept Blue and Teddy as her adopted sons. Blue blocked out that part of his life by the time he was sixteen and focused solely on school, which he was surprisingly good at. He graduated on honor roll and decided to go to D.I.C.K for school.
