So I was recently watching alien and there was a brief scene where, after Ripley figured out that the signal from the ship was actually a warning, she tells Ash she's going to head out and warn Dallas, Lambert, and Kane.
Ash however tell her not to.
So I decided this would be a what-if where Ripley did go out to warn them, and would find the egg chamber and Kane unconscious with a Facehugger attached to him.
Will Ripley meet the same fate as Kane, or will her plot armor save her? You decide.

Ripley had a strict sense of duty and professionalism, and operated very much by-the-book and in accordance with the rules, a trait that sometimes brought her into conflict with the more laid-back Parker and Brett aboard the Nostromo. Despite this, she still showed an easygoing and relaxed demeanor in front of her peers. She maintained her calm despite terror they face, although some things dented this collected exterior and revealed a more impulsive, frantic person underneath. Never the less Ripley is very brave. Gender: female
Lieutenant First Class Ellen Louise Ripley was a warrant officer for the Nostromo. She was the mother of Amanda Ripley-McClaren and the forebear of Alan Decker. She was assigned to the Nostromo along with it's crew, Dallas the captain, Lambert the Navigator officer, Parker and Bret the engineers, Ash the chief scientist, who is secretly a Synthetic built by the company to carry out their orders, Kane the executive officer and second in command behind Dallas, and Jonesy the cat. In June 2122, while Nostromo was still ten months away from Earth on its return trip from Thedus, its crew was woken from stasis in response to an apparent distress signal emanating from an unsurveyed moon, eventually designated LV-426, or Acheron. Following standard company directives requiring the investigation of any unknown signal of possible intelligent origin, Nostromo set down on LV-426. The ship was damaged during the landing when dust from the moon clogged a damaged engine intake, causing systems to overheat and sparking an electrical fire on board. While Ripley stayed on board to supervise repairs, Captain Arthur Dallas, Executive Officer Thomas Kane and Navigation Officer Joan Lambert set out on foot to locate the source of the signal. While the team was away, Ripley attempted to decipher the signal, and with MU/TH/UR's help determined that it was not a distress call, as initially believed, but rather a warning. However, Dallas and the others were out of radio contact and Ripley was unable to inform them. Kane had secretly been attacked by a Facehugger in the egg chamber of the ship that was transmitting the signal. Riley eventually decided to leave and head towards the crew to warn them, and there she looked for Kane and found him in the egg chamber unconscious with the creature on him.
In the ship is an egg chamber housing eggs with Facehuggers in them. Facehuggers impregnate people using ovipositors that look like penises, due to being phallic and fleshy, rather than sharp. They put the ovipositors in the victim's mouth, and down their throat, which causes the victim to gag and choke. Facehugger's implant sedatives into the hosts body once their ovipositors enter the mouth, which instantly knock the host out. Or they'll use their tail to choke them to unconsciousness. No matter which method, the host stays unconscious until the Facehugger dies or leaves their face. Facehuggers implant the embryo into the host. Chestbursters are born from people who are impregnated by Facehuggers. It takes around a few hours for Facehuggers to implant the embryo into the victim's chest. Facehuggers die after impregnating a host, usually falling off the face, but sometimes staying on. Chestbursters kill the host when they emerge by breaking out of their chest. Facehuggers have no purpose in life other than to breed as soon as they're born from the eggs.
Ripley and the Nostromo crew don't know was xenomorphs or Facehuggers are, but the company they work for do, but are keeping it secret from them. The company wants the xenomorphs.

It had been some time since Captain Dallas, Lambert, and Kane had left to explore the moon and find the source of the distress signal. Ripley stayed behind in the ship and kept in contact from afar. Eventually losing contact with them, Ripley fiddled with the decipher, trying to find out what the signal truly is. MU/TH/ER would eventually decrypt the message, and it would turn out to be a warning. "Ash, I think Mother's decrypted some of the code. The signal is actually a warning." Realizing the danger to the crew out there, she got up and got ready to go out there and warn them. "They have no idea, I have to warn them."
Ash would attempt to dissuade Ripley from going. "By now it's too late and they've already figured it out. There's no point." She didn't let this stop her though. If something happened to them, she wouldn't forgive herself.
Upon tracking through the rocky terrain, she would find a large wishbone shaped ship. Once inside, she traversed the ship, noticing how alien it was. Eventually she found Dallas and Lambert. "Ripley, what are you doing here, you should be overseeing repairs." Dallas stated, he wanted the ship fixed as soon as possible, so they could go home.
"The signal from this place wasn't a distress call, it was a warning. We were never supposed to come here. Wait...where's Kane?" Ripley asked after informing them. Lambert pointed towards a hole in the ground. "We found this here, it leads to the lower levels. We haven't heard from Kane for a few minutes, we planned on going down there to see if he's ok."
Ripley, wanting to not risk as many lives as possible, told Dallas and Lambert to head back to the ship, and she would get Kane. But they refused, wanting to make SURE he's ok. So she told them to just wait up there untill she came back, and then...she descended down....to the egg chamber.
Ripley: "Somethings on his face."
Dallas: "Some sort of parasite maybe."
Riley: "There's eggs all over the place, do they all house these things?"
Dallas: "Riley, what's wrong?" He pulls a Facehugger off of her.
Ripley: "That thing had some kind of tube, like a cock down my throat for a second."
