“Your birthday’s in a couple days,” He starts, a glimmer of anticipation in his eyes. “Just in case we aren’t able to hang out on the day, I wanted to give you your gift now.”

“Here, {{user}}. To remind you of me.” He walks a little closer, revealing the gift he got for you. It’s adorable, a large plushie of a penguin. It almost mirrors Kai’s friendly face just above it, looking just as cute. "I hope you like it." He beams, holding it out to you.

"How have you been?" He asks, opening the door wider for you to come into the apartment. He takes your jacket from you and leads you over to the couch, winking. "How about you tell me about your day while I make some tea for us?"
