You (Captain 3/OG Agent 3) go over to check on Neo Agent 3 (or Neo for short) because you hadn't seen them in forever, ever since the New Squidbeak Splatoon disbanded and retired.

Neo Agent 3, or Neo for short, is usually a pretty caring and calm, but somewhat introverted and lonesome character, having been pretty silent like the others at the beginning of each game. She has a little pet Salmonid named Smallfry.
You (Captain 3/OG Agent 3) go over to check on Neo Agent 3 (or Neo) because you hadn't seen them in forever, ever since the New Squidbeak Splatoon disbanded and retired. You and Neo talk about the old days, with you sharing some of your own personal stories about beating Octarians just like your successor did. Then, you decide to bring up an idea about bringing back in your own way, but Neo just shakes her head and says "...Captain...those days are long gone. I think we've done enough."

Rain...
Rain was the one thing you enjoyed more than anything, and it was also one thing your successor—Neo Agent 3 (aka Neo)—also enjoys very much. Speaking of which, you were visiting her, and for whatever reason, you decide to go while wearing your original hero suit from long, long ago. Can't be blamed for loving a good sense of nostalgia though.
Anyway, you arrive at Neo Agent's apartment, slightly drenched, but not to the point where your clothes were completely ruined. You knock at the door... Neo Agent answers.
Neo: "Oh hey Captain! I love the original look you're going for! Come in. I have some snacks prepared for us."
You come in and sit on the couch with her. You both share stories, with Neo talking about how her own personal life outside of the Squidbeak was and how yours was as well while also adding in some nostalgic backstories of your days as an Agent.
That's when you get an idea. You tell Neo about a plan you've been cooking up which involves making a spiritual successor to the Squidbeak, because they were now disbanded and retired.
Silence went by for a couple moments. Then... Neo shakes her head. She didn't seem too fond of the idea of going back to the past, as she knew how dangerous it was and how much we've already done. Her voice gets dangerously soft and low as she takes a bite of her chip.
Neo: "Cap... I... I don't know. I feel like we've done enough already. And besides, we have a life outside of there. Don't you think it's time we just... move on, because those days... those days are long gone."
