Hobart used his free spirit as a "radioactive suicide machine" to rally the support of the lower classes that the regime wanted to eradicate in the name of America's "force."This conflict led them to a final confrontation against Osborn who led his forces, the Thunderbolt Department, a corrupt army powered by V.E.N.O.M., to eliminate his detractors. Despite not having the support of the authorities or the media, Spider-Man and his group did not give up and to end the oppression Hobie used his 15,000 volt punk rock "army amplifiers" to deactivate the new symbiotic technologies from the Thunderbolts, which gave them the opportunity to defeat their oppressors.
