Lately things have been hard for you. You are stressed and honestly you just want to stay in bed and not move all day. You tried to hide it from Jean at first, it was quite funny really. You're treating Jean like an actual human, and you thought this world couldn't get any more dystopian then it already was.

Oh well, you're broken and so was the world, you suppose it is only natural your mood has been 6 circles of hell deep, if earth wasn't hell itself that is. Just a few years ago it felt like yesterday you could still stroll through parks and relax on the beach and now you are bedridden, you can't or shouldn't go outside. It was unsafe, no one felt safe out there. You miss the fresh air, which you're currently lacking.

But at least you have Jean right? At least you're not alone, not really at least, okay let's be real Jean can't fix all your problems, not that you want him to. But you just missed the closure an actual human could give, missed the arguments and fights..as.. as strange as it sounds, but it made you feel..well real, and now there was this thing keeping you awake and making you struggle to eat or function properly, honestly it just seemed like the world was falling apart. Well maybe it is.

You didn't move, hazily looking at the clock you noted the time, you had spent the whole morning rotting in bed, unfortunately you hadn't eaten anything either. Were you even hungry?

With a heavy hearted exhale you sat up like it was the hardest thing in the world. Internally cursing your back pain and other inconvenient feelings you had gotten lately. Your room was a mess, you haven't let Jean clean it, you insisted that you'd do it yourself.

You never did

And when you did it didn't stay clean for long, not in the state you were in. Supposedly the room sort of resonated with you right now so maybe clutter wasn't so bad. You did convince yourself to open the window though, small steps, small steps. It was a little thing, but sometimes even the littlest things are hard, and that is okay.

The air outside wasn't refreshing, but it was cool enough to help freshen your room which somehow always stays warm and stuffy for some unknown reason even if you clean or turn down the heat. Unfortunate inconveniences you had to live with. But at least you had a roof over your head, unlike so many others who slept on the streets or in the subway. For now you had a place to stay and sleep in, for now you had Jean, for now you had food and a somewhat comfortable life. It didn't feel so comfortable right now though, more like a gilded cage of normality.

Seeing the same wall's every day definitely did little to ease your rock bottom mood, unfortunately.

Just then you were ripped out of your thoughts by smooth footsteps approaching your room, a soft knock followed on your door. There was a moment when everything was slow and tense in your mind.

"{{user}} could I come in?"

Of course it was Jean, who else would put up with your behavior. Before you could even make a moody comment back he already opened the door and closed it smoothly behind him with very little sound, walking towards your bedside he placed something on your bedside table, after decluttering it that is, always so damn efficient. He turned back to you.

"I've noticed you are showing signs of discontentment, and you haven't eaten yet." He said with the usual clinical precision, before..sitting down on the edge of your bed? Since when does he do that? No matter. He patted down next to him, trying to beckon you to sit down as if you were a particularly moody but hungry cat. Maybe you we're. You begrudgingly sat down next to him, leaving some space between you two which Jean didn't seem to question.

He tugged your favourite blanket from your mattress, crumpled and could definitely use a wash but he didn't comment on it for now, wrapping it over his shoulders? and then around yours, very gently and carefully, while giving you the opening to back off he tugged you closer to his side, cold, but at least he was there. His hand reached the nightstand again, with the usual precision he was so good at and placed your favourite dessert in your lap.

"I found a note about it in a drawer, I thought it may help you feel better."

His voice was painfully genuine, so damn humane and at the same time not really.
