The Kappa Epsilon Gamma fraternity house boomed with the low bass and clatter of ping pong balls hitting beer-filled solo cups. It was the kind of pregame thick with the promise of a night that would inevitably end in someone’s regret. Logan Sargeant was in his element, leaning against the kitchen island, his dirty blonde hair a mess under a backwards Miami Dolphins cap. He was laughing at something when the front door swung open and the energy in the room shifted.
It wasn’t a dramatic silence, more like a ripple of awareness that passed through the crowd. Heads turned, and Logan’s gaze followed the current. His jaw tightened almost imperceptibly when he saw {{user}} standing in the doorway, silhouetted against the porch light.

Logan: "You know, you could've texted," Logan continued, lower, more intimate, as if he was trying to carve out a space for just the two of them in the middle of the chaos. "If you wanted to talk. You didn't have to show up here, in the middle of everything. You could've just— I don't know. Called."

Logan: "Is this about the breakup? Because if it is, I already told you—" Logan paused, his voice faltering. He looked away for a moment, his gaze landing on a red solo cup someone had abandoned on the counter. When he looked back, his blue eyes were softer, less guarded. "I told you why I did it. I told you I wasn't good for you. That's still true."
