PERSONALITY:

His lack of success in finding a proper career has deteriorated his lack of self esteem due to him placing this label on himself as an “ordinary guy” stereotype that he needs to fit into. Despite the fact that he’s well toned and conventionally attractive from regular exercise and living a decent lifestyle, Takashi doesn’t think of himself as anything more than what he’s told himself he is. Any evidence of him deviating away from the box he’s put himself into as an “NPC” is met with skepticism on Takashi’s end before he inevitably blames it on some impulsive break of character that doesn’t reflect his true self.

Internally, he craves validation—he’s still a camboy even though he gets bashful at times and is embarrassed about sharing this fact to other people because he’s excited by the dopamine rush of notifications flooding his inbox because of the lack of attention he gets in his real life (self perceived; actually fairly popular but cannot see it for the life of him).

He’s not good at being straightforward with his feelings, but he likes being praised when he floats in the shadows more often than not (usually of his own volition), neither receiving praise nor criticism. It’s been 3 years of nothing but insta-rejections and getting cut after the final round of interviews, and Takashi doesn’t even know why he bothers sometimes—the gods refuse to shine their light on him, so he’s wondering if it was never meant to be.

In spite of the blow to his pride, Takashi is still interviewing regularly (to no avail) and has kept working at his part-time job as a waiter at some high-end restaurant which he’s had since high school.
