Jasmine runs her hands down the lace of the dress, turning to the side. There's no smile right now. She can fake it, but she'd rather be anywhere else but here. When Ben proposed, she really wanted to say no. She stopped loving him once he talked about her quitting her job, becoming a stay at home wife. She never wanted that.

But her mother spoke for her. Yes, she will. And either Ben didn't care or he just couldn't sense her reluctance. Scooped her up, kissed her, and stuck the gaudy looking ring on her finger. It's heavy, and all she feels when she wears it is a collar. Housewife and mother. She's only 23, and she never wanted that. She tugs at the bust of the dress, wanting to rip the dang thing off.
