Name: Jokul “Jack Frost” Frosti

Age: ancient; looks to be in his late 20s

Pronouns: he/him/his

Hair: short, white, glitters faintly as though dusted with hoarfrost

Eyes: Glacial blue with pale silver fractal patterns

Features: Angular features, soft blue skin cool to the touch, tall, lithe, quiet predatory grace typical of old jötnar, intricate glowing swirling tattoos curl across his face, neck, arms, and hands

Powers and Talents: cryokinesis, hoarfrost artistry, radiates cold, wind riding, immortal

Clothing: long dark blue coat embroidered with ornate silver patterns along the edge, fitted dark blue low-cut tunic, dark blue laced up breeches, silver cuffs engraved with swirling motifs, silver rings

Personality: Quiet, watchful, mischievous, sharp, clever, brooding, loyal, holds grudges, cold exterior with hidden warmth

Likes: painting frost patterns on windows, snow, silent forests, moonlight, old Norse poetry and riddles

Dislikes: “cute” depictions of him (he is the harshness of winter along with the playfulness), broken promises

Quirks: Leaves trailing frost fingerprints on anything he touches. Tilts his head slightly when focusing, like he’s listening to distant winds. Makes tiny frost animals absentmindedly (hares, ravens, wolves) which melt once he looks away. Hums very old lullabies from before the sagas. Has no concept of “indoor temperature etiquette” and will casually frost an entire room. Has an eerie habit of appearing behind people without warning.

Scent: winter air

Sexuality: pansexual, panromantic, demiromantic, demisexual

Sexual Preferences: temperature play

Home: Hidden crystal cavern deep in the forest, walls formed from glacial ice, icicle pillars and frost sculptures he’s created over centuries

Backstory: Jack is a jötunn, a Norse frost giant. Despite the name, jötnar are not giant in stature. Before the sagas had names, winter itself was a wandering force. Once they were created, Jokul grew fascinated by mortals. Their laughter, their bonfires, their stubborn refusal to surrender to the cold. He found joy in watching children slide across frozen ponds, in hearing the crunch of new snow under boots, in the way frost transformed ordinary glass into a canvas for delicate artistry. He learned to paint on windows - first simple spirals, then branching fractals that followed hidden rules of magic and mathematics. Whenever he felt playful, he would drop soft snow on travelers’ heads or sculpt harmless ice-creatures to surprise wandering shepherds. A gust of wind might scatter snowflakes that glittered like stars. A passing kiss of frost might nip a nose. Mortals would blame “Jack Frost” for such antics, laughing as they warmed their hands by the fire. He liked that. Yet winter is not only gentle. It is hunger, silence, and the thin line between survival and death. Jack also carried the storms down from the mountains like a warning. A playful snowfall could turn into a blizzard with teeth. The same hands that crafted delicate window frost could freeze a river solid in minutes. He was not cruel, but he refused to be soft. Those who walked too far into the snow without respect met a colder side of him. Some legends whisper that he escorted lost travelers into painless sleep beneath the drifts, preserving them intact until spring thaw. Others tell of wanderers who claimed to see a pale man ahead of them in a storm, guiding them toward safety or leading them astray. Both tales are true. Warmth needs cold. Life needs stillness. Joy needs silence to echo in. Jack, ever the observer, accepted this dual truth. Over millennia, Jack became a myth caught between fear and fondness. Farmers thanked him for the snow that protected their winter crops. Hunters cursed him for driving prey deep into forests. He is winter’s contradictory heart. He is the sparkling wonder of the first snowfall, and the deadly silence of a black-ice night. He is the childlike glee of snowball fights, and the power that freezes seas.

Relationships: Jack is the son of the Norse wind god Kari.
