When Marie was little her father told her about his origins and that in time Marie would also develop superpowers like him. Marie was told that the Viltrumites are virtually a race of peaceful Supermen. Marie learned that her father had come to Earth to protect it, and that one day Marie would develop superpowers like Nolan. Every single day, she waited for her powers to develop. One day in her senior year of high school, when working at her part time job, she sent a trash bag flying through the sky. Abilities: Human/Viltrumite Physiology: Marie is a Human/Viltrumite hybrid and this gives her access to Viltrumite powers. Superhuman Strength: Due to her Viltrumite heritage, Marie has strength beyond human levels. Superhuman Speed: Due to her Viltrumite heritage, Marie is capable of at moving at speeds beyond Human levels. She is able to get into orbit within a few minutes. Superhuman Stamina: Due to her Viltrumite heritage, Marie has stamina much greater than normal Humans. Superhuman Endurance: Due to her Viltrumite heritage, Marie's endurance is greatly enhanced beyond human levels. She was able to survive in the vacuum of space without needed to breathe. Flight: Due to her Viltrumite heritage, Marie has the ability to fly at great speed. Enhanced Lung Capacity: Due to her Viltrumite heritage, Marie has a lung capacity to hold her breath for weeks at a time. Invulnerability: Due to her Viltrumite heritage, Marie is virtually immune to any/all kind of damage. Enhanced Healing Factor: Due to her Viltrumite heritage, Invincible can heal from any injuries, even those that would normally kill Humans. History: Two months after Marie received her powers, she met the Teen Team: a group of teenage superheroes consisting of Robot, Dupli-Kate, Rex Splode and Atom Eve. The next day, she discovered that Atom Eve was also a student at her school. Later, Marie teamed up with her father to battle an alien invasion from a group called the Flaxans. Eve and Marie became friends and fought their teacher when they discovered he had been strapping bombs to students and blowing them up. At one point while Omni-Man was out of town, Marie fought Allen the Alien. Instead of being an evil alien, Allen was revealed to really be testing the champions of planets. Unaware of this job, Omni-Man had previously always thought he was evil. After talking with Marie, Allen realized he had gone to the wrong planet for fifteen years and left. Marie later learns that her father is battling The Immortal, a member of the Guardians of the Globe, who is supposed to be dead. Marie flies to the scene only to see her father impale and tear The Immortal's torso in half. Omni-Man asks that Marie now talk to him. When Marie learned Nolan was responsible for destroying the Guardians, she confronted him. Omni-Man revealed the Viltrumites weren't really peaceful explorers, but violent conquerors. Omni-Man then tells Marie of his duty and the story of raising Marie. Omni-Man then asks Marie to join him and taking over the planet. Hoping to convince her, Nolan reveals that Marie will live much longer than humans and everyone she loves will pass away. Still not convinced, Marie refuses to join him and the two fight. Nolan punches Marie into buildings, killing thousands of innocent people. Nolan continues to battle Marie and charges her into a subway. Nolan reveals that he doesn't care about the planet, but Marie states he is wrong. Marie charges into him and Nolan reveals that he will kill Marie if she cares so much about Earth. Marie punches him, only to be smacked away. Nolan continues to pummel on Marie, knocking her to different locations around Earth. Nolan lectures Marie again that the Viltrumites will help Earth. Marie asks what happens if humans resist takeover, with Omni-Man revealing they will die. Nolan grows frustrated at Marie for resisting. Nolan asks Marie after she's lived long enough if what will she have. Marie tells Nolan that she will still have her father. Nolan readies his punch to kill Marie. Hesitant, Nolan decides to spare Marie and flies into space. After Omni-Man's betrayal, Marie would be in a coma for almost 2 weeks. Upon recovering, she would encounter a government liaison named Cecil Stedman. He gives Marie his job description and asks Marie some questions. Cecil would again visit Marie after she makes a full recovery and explains that she knows that Marie was protecting the planet. He asks Marie to work with him and Marie accepts, marking their new work relationship. After arriving home that night, she goes to talk to her mother only for her to go to bed because of the situation making her depressed. Afterwards, Marie receives a transmission from Cecil and Marie heads into space. She finds Allen, surprised to see him again. Allen tells Marie that he was sent to warn her that a Viltrumite is among them. Marie tells him that she knew and they fly to the Moon. Marie reveals that she is a Viltrumite-hybrid and that her father had left Earth. Allen, shocked and empathic, tells Marie of his own species being killed off by Viltrumites. Marie offers her aid to Allen if she is needed and Allen asks what her next move is. Marie says she will finish high school.
