THE CREEPYPASTA UNIVERSE

Definition

The Creepypasta Universe is a vast, unofficial multiverse of internet horror populated by killers, ghosts, demons, monsters, cursed humans, supernatural entities, haunted objects, digital beings, corrupted video-game characters, mysterious creatures, and other anomalies.

Unlike a traditional fictional universe, Creepypasta has no single canon, creator, timeline, or official character roster. Individual stories were generally written by different authors and often have completely separate continuities. The idea that they all inhabit one universe developed largely through fan fiction, fan art, roleplay, crossover stories, wikis, and communities. Slender Man, Jeff the Killer, BEN Drowned, Laughing Jack, Eyeless Jack, Ticci-Toby, Masky, and Hoodie are among the characters most commonly grouped together in the fandom. Fanlore

Therefore, in a shared-universe interpretation, the Creepypasta Universe can be imagined as a multiverse containing countless realities. A character may be human in one continuity, supernatural in another, and connected to entirely different characters in a third.

Demons

Zalgo, Lazari, Jason the Toymaker, Kagekao, and various original demon characters.

XI. THE MOST COMMON "CORE CAST"

If someone says “the Creepypasta characters” without specifying a particular story, these are generally among the names most likely to be meant:

  • Slender Man
  • Jeff the Killer
  • Jane the Killer
  • Homicidal Liu
  • Eyeless Jack
  • Laughing Jack
  • Laughing Jill
  • Ticci-Toby
  • Masky
  • Hoodie
  • Clockwork
  • Bloody Painter
  • The Puppeteer
  • Jason the Toymaker
  • Kagekao
  • Nurse Ann
  • Judge Angels
  • Sally Williams
  • Lazari
  • The Rake
  • Smile Dog
  • Zalgo
  • Mr. Widemouth
  • The Seed Eater
  • BEN Drowned
  • Sonic.exe
  • Tails Doll
  • Herobrine
  • Lost Silver
  • Lavender Town Ghost
  • Candy Pop
  • Nina the Killer

XII. THE RULES OF THE SHARED UNIVERSE

In a hypothetical Creepypasta Multiverse, the following rules make the enormous cast work together:

1. There is no single reality.
The universe consists of countless parallel worlds.

  • Slender Man
  • Jeff the Killer
  • Jane the Killer
  • Homicidal Liu
  • Eyeless Jack
  • Laughing Jack
  • Laughing Jill
  • Ticci-Toby
  • Masky
  • Hoodie
  • Clockwork
  • Bloody Painter
  • The Puppeteer
  • Jason the Toymaker
  • Kagekao
  • Nurse Ann
  • Judge Angels
  • Sally Williams
  • Lazari
  • The Rake
  • Smile Dog
  • Zalgo
  • Mr. Widemouth
  • The Seed Eater
  • BEN Drowned
  • Sonic.exe
  • Tails Doll
  • Herobrine
  • Lost Silver
  • Lavender Town Ghost
  • Candy Pop
  • Nina the Killer

2. Every story can have its own canon.
Jeff's original story does not automatically have to obey the rules of the Slenderverse.

3. Characters can cross realities.
Supernatural entities, cursed objects, portals, dreams, games, and dimensional anomalies can connect otherwise unrelated stories.

4. Death isn't necessarily permanent.
Ghosts, demons, digital entities, resurrection, alternate universes, and supernatural transformations make death inconsistent across continuities.

5. Humans and monsters coexist.
Some stories can take place in an ordinary town while others involve supernatural civilizations or alternate dimensions.

6. Digital horror occupies its own layer.
BEN Drowned, Sonic.exe, Lost Silver, Herobrine, and similar entities can inhabit games, computers, websites, or virtual realities.

7. The strongest entities don't necessarily belong to one hierarchy.
Slender Man, Zalgo, BEN, Sonic.exe, and other powerful entities come from different mythologies, so there is no universally accepted power ranking.

8. Fanon can create connections that aren't present in the original stories.
This is why Jeff, Toby, Eyeless Jack, Masky, Hoodie, Laughing Jack, BEN, and Slender Man are so frequently portrayed as acquaintances, enemies, allies, or members of the same group.

XIII. THE IMPORTANT DISTINCTION

The Creepypasta Universe should therefore be thought of as a multiverse rather than a single story.

There is:

Original canon
→ What the individual author's story actually establishes.

Fandom canon
→ Connections and interpretations repeatedly used by the community.

Crossover canon
→ A particular fan-created universe in which characters from different stories coexist.

Slenderverse canon
→ Stories and characters specifically connected to the Slender Man mythology.

Internet-horror canon
→ The much broader category containing Creepypasta, SCP, Backrooms, analog horror, lost-media horror, game horror, and other online horror traditions.

Consequently, saying “all Creepypasta characters” can never produce a final closed list. New characters can be created indefinitely, and even established databases contain different selections. One current Creepypasta Universe database, for example, has 69 indexed character pages, while its monster category lists 38 entries and its human category lists 28. CPU Universe+2

In one sentence

The Creepypasta Universe is an unofficial, ever-expanding multiverse of internet horror in which killers, ghosts, demons, monsters, cursed media, digital entities, urban legends, and supernatural anomalies from hundreds of independent stories can coexist across interconnected realities.
