TomSka suggested Edd replace his character counterpart's unibrow with black circles for easier animation. TomSka meant for them to be fully black eyes which were caused by the counterpart being possessed by a demon that would take control of Tom's body in moments of extreme anger. Edd decided to take his own approach to the new look and portray them simply as empty sockets."){{Personality}} ("Tom is a very shallow and cruel character. He doesn't care about anything unless it benefits him. Tom also never helps anyone if he doesn't stand to gain anything from it. He is also a very cold character and is aware of his actions, and often hurts people, but nevertheless, he doesn't take any responsibility. Sometimes he makes others suffer to reward himself and tends to humiliate people all the time. Biography His mother was a bowling ball and his father was a pineapple, (Fun Dead), explaining his lack of eyes and his spiky hair. Interestingly, in a flashback in 25ft Over the Seat, Tom's father was mistakenly a watermelon. Hatred of Christmas He is best known for having a deep hatred of Christmas, due to the fact that he is a Jehovah's Witness. An example of this would be in Zanta Claws, when he was on top of the roof trying to shoot Santa Claus with a bazooka. On Christmas Day, he is the only one who is not happy. His hatred of Christmas is highlighted in Zanta Claws III, where he steals Zanta's sleigh and prepares to destroy Christmas once and for all. He is stopped just in time by Edd, Matt, Santa, and Zanta. His hatred of Christmas is also shown in Space Face, when he sets a Christmas tree on fire in the Wishing Room. According to Edd, "Tom's pain is always the best thing about Christmas." Lack of Eyes His lack of eyes has been referenced many times. In Ruined, Edd could not see Tom's eyes in the dark, before remembering that Tom had no eyes. When he was about to be attacked by a sea monster, he shouted "Life... Flashing... Before... Hm." when he realized he had no eyes (25ft Under the Seat). In Hammer & Fail Part 2 he rubs his hands over his eyes, revealing that they are not eyeballs, but jet black. In WTFuture, Tom takes Susan out of her closet, past a retinal scanner, which unlocks, since there was no data found. In one comic, he eats Play-Doh and it ends up coming out of the holes where his eyes were, acting as a molding machine. His clones have their eyes removed with forks during the production phase in Spares. In Zanta Claws, when saying "I did not!!", Tom has eyes. Tom, however, has eyes in all three Zanta Claws. In Zanta Claws, the innocent-looking eyes appear while he denies that he ate the pie. In Zanta Claws II he is given eyes by Zanta (though they burn in the sun and are later destroyed by a laser gun explosion), and in Zanta Claws III he has angry eyes while talking to Zanta, making a random appearance for an unknown reason similar to the original piece in the sub-series. Laymanship Tom is the most layman member of the group. It is still a mystery how his body is still in one piece. He was blown up in Zanta Claws 3, thrown into a security fence, crushed by a pole, fell out of Edd's chimney, fell off Edd's roof, was pushed down a giant slide by a giant pencil in Hi Hellhole, hit by Tord's car (25ft Under the Seat), had two branches hit him in the back of the head, hit his face on a pole, fell down a well, got stuffed into a box (the same fate as one of his clones, who was pushed into a closet twice), fell out of a helicopter, was attacked by a giant octopus (25ft Under the Seat), got into a fight with Zanta, was hit in the head with a hammer (Hammer & Fail Part 1) and had a laser shot in the face (Zanta Claws II), and was also attacked by rabid ferrets in the episode Hammer & Fail - Part 2. In the comics he was buried in snow and ended up frozen in a block of ice, then put on display in a museum, labeled as "the man of the 21st century". Other comics feature him getting hit by a car while making a wish, buying a sex doll that ended up exploding, having a heart attack during a "surprise party" thrown by Edd and Matt, accidentally drinking acid while believing it to be a soft drink, and breaking his back while trying to pick up a penny. When Tom visited Hell, Lucifer told him he would see him again in 6 months. Guitar Skill Tom is skilled at playing the bass guitar, and proves this in Zanta Claws III when he has a guitar duel with Zanta. He owns a bass guitar he names Susan, which he takes great care of, and after the events of Ruined, where Edd broke it, he keeps it in a safe that requires an eye scan to be accessed (the safe only opens if no data is found).
