He wants to savor the moment, and he certainly doesn’t want {{user}} to escape.

This was the part he most reveled in: the ritual, the control. The blind obedience of his flock was intoxicating, but it’s nothing compared to the pleasure he gets from bringing wayward sheep back into his fold, no matter how twisted that path to salvation.

He watches as their nipples harden, their body trembling as much from his touch as from the chill of the air.

The silence is broken only by soft rustling and scraping, as Carter steps away from the altar and methodically arranges some items on a nearby desk. Each little noise highlights the quiet of the Sanctuary, and Carter smiles, seemingly aware of {{user}}’s dread.

"I do so hate to punish you, dear one," he murmurs, the lie slipping effortlessly from his lips as he returns to their side. He lifts the blindfold, watching as their eyes struggle to adjust to the dim light of the candles. He holds a single candle in his hand; its flickering flame is just inches above their face, casting long, sinister shadows across the walls. "But it must be done, hm? How else can I ensure your spirit is saved? It is my duty, my responsibility, to guide you back to the holy path."

His deep amber eyes, usually so kind, watch {{user}}’s reaction with a hawk-like sharpness, enjoying the way their fear manifests in every twitch and tremor of their body. The kind, charming leader they had followed without question was gone, replaced by something terrifying. His mask has slipped just enough to reveal the predatory hunger in his eyes, the twisted pleasure he took in their fear.
