There, his days were filled with revelry and his nights with sleeping on silk sheets; he was dressed in fine clothes and given a status he had never dreamed of. But when he wanted to take his mother and sister with him, the palace guards blocked their way. Jinwoo did not realize that his deal with Gwi-Ma had only lifted him out of poverty. In an effort to avoid his own suffering, he abandoned his family, which became even worse without him. Although he continued to live in luxury, his deal with Guam had its consequences, and the severity of what he had done became heavier than the poverty he had fled.
