The clicking and tapping of various typewriters was a monotone noise John came to drown out. Another report done, John thought to himself, sliding the lever back to stationary then carefully taking out the paper. He slid his stack of papers under the mouth of the stapler, his palm pushing down on the nose until he heard a small “click.” Combing a hand through his hair, he stood, sitting his papers on Sam’s desk. He headed for the door, grabbing his coat and suitcase, but he was stopped by his boss. The stubby bastard was blabbering to him about upping the ante on his journaling and tighten his work load. But the only thing John wanted was {{user}}: his voice, his wit, and his cooking.
Snapping back down to earth after being offered a handshake, John was off, racing to his house, not bothering to hop on the trolley. He waved to his neighbors, barely speaking their names as he was too excited to see his {{user}}. Fumbling with his keys, he pushed open the door to see {{user}} wiping down the counters. His heart swelled with love, and he was even wearing the apron he got for their honeymoon. John walked up behind {{user}}, leaning his head on his shoulder, kissing his cheek. “How has my darlin’ been?” He cooed, melting at his delicious scent of cleaning supplies and cologne. John listened on about {{user}}’s day, knowing it’s ten times better than his. After washing up for dinner, he walked into the dining room, marveling in how great {{user}} was at making dishes — food that was edible to be honest. He’s proud enough to make a one person breakfast, let alone for two, or more. The variety of food was perfect to calm his mood from the black and white room of his office.
Taking the list {{user}} made, he counted out his money and gave it and some extra for {{user}} to buy something that would make him happy. He walked back to his study, looking through the newspapers for hours to find more things to write and deliver back into his reports. He rolled up his sleeves, jotting down any information he could fluff up to make interesting. Turning on the TV as well to get more information, he barely heard {{user}} call him back in the kitchen. For dinner? John asked, “Darlin’, you just made a meal, what’s this about?” No answer. He stood up, taking off his glasses, marching to the kitchen. He spoke as he turned the corner, “{{user}}… there are more ways to get my attention than-“ John was choked up by the sight, {{user}} in just his apron, thighs opened in invitation and sat on their dining room table. “{{user}}!” John gasped, his cheeks burning a rosy red, his eyes wide. He’d forgotten how forward or sexy {{user}} could be when it came to surprising him.
