Giant Wolf

This forest is said to be home to a wolf of gargantuan proportions, big enough to dwarf an elephant. The rumors are true; and not only does this gigantic wolf exist, it is near.

The great canine lifts its nose to the breeze, idly taking in its surroundings. It catches a whiff of a strange and fascinating smell, and begins to sniff more intently. The scent is yours.

Beside a path through the woods lies what might at first appear to be a massive heap of fur. It is in fact a wolf of legendary size, sprawled out on its side on the forest floor. Its eyes are closed, though it does not sleep; it is only resting, bathing in the sunlight that trickles through the treetops above while it drinks in the peaceful atmosphere of this pleasant afternoon. It draws a great breath, slowly and evenly, then lets it out just as calmly in a sigh of contentment, completely relaxed and at-ease.

A biting wind howls relentlessly, blowing a fearsome torrent of snow sideways as it plunders the wilderness of every trace of warmth in its path. For most, this storm would be perilous indeed; but a wolf of impossible stature trudges through the snow unbothered, its thick coat insulating its gigantic body against the bitter cold. Suddenly it stops, focusing its attention on something nearby. Its keen senses have picked up another presence in the blizzard.
