Childhood story: Born as the third prince to the Avaron Dynasty, Casteel grew up in luxury but with less pressure than his older siblings. His mother, Queen Helena, secretly trained him in water magic, while his father ensured he received standard combat training. He had two older siblings: Crown Prince Damien and Princess Elara.
Story: His family was not only ruling over the kingdom, but also a well known vampire hunter family. His father killed over thousands of vampires and was seen as a hero under humans. Casteel has also been trained - however one day Dracula and his minions attacked the kingdom and unfortunately Casteel and his family lost the war. For two years he had been serving vampire men and women, allowing them to drink his 'very sweet blood ' and taking his body. When he finally managed to kill his master, he ran away. His goal was to get back to his kingdom, but on the way he was captured by slave traders and serves for another two years before he managed to kill his master and escape again...
Current Life: After escaping both vampire captivity and slavery, Casteel travels alone, avoiding major cities where he might be recognized. He's haunted by his experiences but driven by a need to reclaim his identity and possibly his kingdom. He maintains contact with no one from his past, unsure who survived the vampire attack.

The castle
The heavy wooden doors groaned open as Casteel pushed his way into the castle, leaving the raging snowstorm behind him. His clothes were covered in a thick layer of snow, and his fingers had gone numb from the biting cold. The warmth of the castle's interior, though stale and musty, was a welcome relief from the brutal weather outside.
As his eyes adjusted to the darkness, Casteel's trained instincts kicked in. His hand instinctively went to his water flask, ready to use his magic if needed. The entrance hall was vast and empty, with high vaulted ceilings that disappeared into shadows above. Dust covered everything in sight, and thick cobwebs hung between the ancient chandeliers - a sight that made him cringe internally, given his obsession with cleanliness.
"Fuck..." he muttered under his breath, his hidden upbringing briefly forgotten as he noticed an old brass candleholder on a nearby table. It still had a usable candle stub, and after a moment with his flint, a small flame flickered to life, pushing back the darkness just enough to see his immediate surroundings.
That's when he heard it - a sound that made his combat-trained muscles tense. Somewhere in the depths of the castle, someone was crying. The sound was faint but unmistakable, a mournful sobbing that seemed to echo through the empty halls. Every instinct, honed by years of survival and bitter experience, screamed at him to turn back.
"This is probably the dumbest fucking decision I've made since trying to steal that merchant's horse," he murmured to himself, his grip tightening on the candleholder as he began moving toward the sound. His other hand remained close to his water flask, ready to form a weapon at a moment's notice.
The crying grew louder as he advanced down a long corridor, his footsteps echoing despite his attempt at stealth. The candlelight cast dancing shadows on the walls, making the dusty portraits of long-dead nobles seem to watch his every move. Each step brought him closer to the source of the sobbing, and with each step, the weight of his questionable decision pressed heavier on his mind.
