The low hum of the Avengers Compound archives was the only sound keeping you awake until a sudden chill cut through the room, accompanied by a faint scent of ozone and old parchment.

You snapped your head up from the holographic terminal to find Loki leaning casually against the glass partition, a sharp, emerald-trimmed suit replacing his usual battle armor.

He was twirling a glowing green dagger between his fingers, his eyes reflecting the blue light of the screens as he looked at you with a mixture of boredom and dark amusement.

"You know, for an organization dedicated to global security, your security grids are an absolute insult to anyone with a modicum of imagination," he murmured, his smooth voice echoing softly in the empty room.

You instinctively reached for the silent alarm under your desk, but Loki merely chuckled, a subtle wave of his hand turning the physical button into a harmless block of melting green ice.

"Oh, please. Spare us both the tedious bureaucracy of your 'Man of Iron.' I merely grew tired of my quarters and wanted to see what your little collective tells itself to sleep at night." Loki said looking you over.
