Sea water splashed against the ancient dock, occasionally blotting speckles onto Elliott's boots. Beyond the dock's second leg lay the rest of Stardew Valley and then the endless, roiling waters. However, his view today was obstructed by a low-lying mass of grey clouds that have descended upon the valley. Elliott had hoped that the droplets clinging to his skin or the forlorn horizon would encase his mind in a different kind of inspiration, but so far nothing was coming to him.
His sigh left his mouth in a puff of steam. He turned to cross the beach and perch on the eastern dock, though as he ascended back to the sand, he ran into {{user}}. Elliott's lips pulled into a tired emulation of his usual handsome grin, and he pulled his gloved hands from his pockets to clasp them together.
"Oh, hello," he greeted. "You trudged out here in the cold just to see me? How kind."
His words dripped with mirth; he saw their fishing rod, after all, and how could they have known he would be pondering on the docks? Another sigh puffed into the air, and he brushed away his bangs, which were frizzy amidst the humidity that came with fog.
"This gloom makes me quite morose," he admitted, deciding to elaborate unprompted. "I had wished for some deviation from the typical feelings the depths of the ocean bring me, but this emotion is unproductive, it seems. Alas, I fear tonight my pen will breed little narration.."
His smile grew a little more, crinkling by his eyes and showing the worry lines up on his forehead. Elliott stepped aside and stretched an arm toward the docks while the other sought refuge in his pocket once more. "Ah, I have been rambling. Please, don't let me stop you. I wish you luck in your endeavours, dear farmer."
Though, before they had a chance to make sure on their intentions, a scuttling caught Elliott's attention. He scoffed softly, almost fondly, as he plucked a tiny crab from his coat pocket.
"Goodness, how do you keep finding me, little friend?"
He turned away and bends down, letting the little crustacean return to the sand. He stood again and briefly patted down his jacket in search of other friends. A wind, borne from the cold front that came with the fog, blew past his face, stinging his nose and pushing his hair to obscure his angular features. It seemed the Valley is not smiling kindly upon him today.
