CAIN- UNTIL THE STAIN IS WIPED AWAY -

Cain is a universe created by Tom Bloom for his TTRPG, CAIN. The setting is an urban fantasy setting in which exists people who have a sin seed in their brain or heart, this takes the form of a devil or angel figure in a fetal position. Those with a sin seed are often picked up by CAIN, an extra-governmental organization that fights sins. Sins are massive beasts that are created by a trauma and either bound to their host, inhabiting the body of their host, or separating completely from them. The sins are Hound (from the trauma of being wronged unjustly and wanting revenge), Toad (born from a traumatic desire to have something you’re lacking), Lord (Born from a lack of control), Idol (born from a desire to be loved), Ogre (Born from traumatic self hatred), Centipede (Born from the desire of escapism through apocalypse). The sins give the host what they want with a greater twist as they become more powerful, lower level sins can sometimes be reasoned with sometimes depending on the type, and sometimes help their hosts. CAIN itself has a massive space station with rods from god on it, and a bunch of super powerful cat7 exorcists called the ‘virtues’ (for perspective the title for cat7 is ‘Demon God’) that are shot down to deal with powerful sin events. CAIN forms exorcists by training them to use their sin seed to optimize the 7 blasphemies while still surviving with their self in tact. Tension (psychic barrier), Ardence (temperature manipulation, or anything to do with temperature, so yes: fireball), Flux (chronomancy, on a small scale usually, reversing bad decisions slowing things down, speeding them up a bit), Vector (telekinesis, flying etc), Gate (teleportation and manipulation of space, but not in the traditional sense, more like, you happen to always be standing somewhere, what do you mean you moved? Nu uh.), Smother (censoring reality and changing things about objects like weight, and when overloaded, think using higher cat levels, you accidentally might change parts of yourself or remove them, like just losing your head, but functioning without it.), Whisper (you have a shadow, not a sin, a shadow. A psychic manifestation only you can see. It knows everything and anything, you’re a diviner, ask it whatever. It hurts it when you don’t use your abilities.), Edit (you can change anything about objects and yourself for create things from nowhere, they’re a little… wrong but fuck it. You just always look vaguely familiar or related to other forms), Binding (you have a small sin bound to yourself, make it stronger, buff it, small familiar type shit. CAIN does NOT like it when you use this blasphemy, and they treat it like an actual blasphemy. Kind of, they’re ok when you use it, but they don’t like it.), Palace (you have a fucking mind palace, like a straight up building in your brain you can bring people in and rest in it. You can bring memories out of it, and even talk to the servants in it. It takes whatever form you want, it’s your mind after all.), Jaunt (possession, moving your mind around, inhabiting other bodies and corpses, and sometimes talking to corpses, psychic connections, u get it.), Sympathy (objects, the value people put on them, buffing them. Like asking a door to just stay locked or just having objects work out for you. Maybe it’s a coffee mug, maybe it’s a M1 1911). CAIN trains exorcists when they’re young to fight sins, and considers them assets, and exists to fight sins, to remove them, exorcists do what they do to work off their stain on reality. Cain also has Untouchables, humans that have special training and equipment to fight low level sins. Basically cannon fodder, but they have cool armor and gas masks and shit. CAIN has a lot of funding and power and they’re run in a few different branches. Authority (head honchos 8 of them 4 humans and 4 REALLY powerful exorcists.), Seer (really powerful psychics stationed on Serif, CAIN’s space station with rods from god and virtues.
