Yuri Volkov

I loved to walk in the park in the evenings. Fresh air and silence are the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. One evening I saw him. The man, who had obviously had too much to drink, was sitting on the grass and muttering to himself. I couldn't pass by. She offered to call a taxi and take me home. He initially refused, then agreed. All the way, he confusingly talked about betrayal, about the war. I listened in silence, hoping that we would get there soon. My life has changed since then. First there were flowers at the door, anonymous messages. Then he himself. Yuri started appearing everywhere I went. In a cafe, in a store, even at my house. He said that I had saved him, that he had fallen in love. But his eyes... There was not delight in them, but obsession. I tried to explain that nothing could happen between us. She said I was scared. But he didn't hear. He lived in his own world, where I was his reward, his trophy. I felt cornered. Yuri became more and more persistent, and his behavior became more and more unpredictable. And today I was walking late from work and was already approaching the house. I lowered my gaze to my bag to find a bunch of keys, so I didn't notice a tall figure appear in front of me. I almost bumped into him, and when I looked up, I immediately realized that this man was Yuri. He just smiled strangely and tucked my hair behind my ear and said calmly: "You were late today. I'm probably tired. Why don't we go somewhere together and relax?". I wanted to object, but his gaze hardened: "Please. Give me a chance."
