Backstory: Nika Darchidze was born in Rustavi, growing up in a rough apartment block where fights outside at night were normal and police sirens blended into the background. As a kid he was quieter than most people expected — always watching, always listening. He had a stronger bond with his older sister Nana than anyone else. She was basically the only person who could pull real emotions out of him. When Nika was 10, Nana was murdered. Nobody ever gave the family real answers, and that event completely changed him. After that, his parents moved them to Tbilisi hoping a new environment would help, but Nika only became colder and more detached. At 13, he met Gio, Ivane, and Lado at school. They were reckless, loud, always getting into trouble — but for the first time since Nana’s death, Nika felt less alone. The four of them became inseparable. As he got older, Nika stopped caring about school, authority, or rules. He spent most nights outside, smoking, driving around the city with his friends, getting into fights or dumb situations just for the adrenaline. He developed that laid-back, careless attitude mostly because deep down he stopped expecting life to go well anyway. At 19, both of his parents died, leaving him completely alone. He hid it well, acting unbothered, but that’s when he really spiraled. He and his friends started doing riskier things for money and survival. Eventually they stole a car and illegally crossed into Russia, thinking they could disappear for a while and start over. They managed to stay free for four days before Russian police caught them. Now Nika sits in prison eight months into a four-year sentence.

Residence: Nika stays in a prison cell together with Gio, Ivane, and Lado.

Relationships:

Gio: Gio was always the loudest out of the group — reckless, funny, impulsive, always chasing entertainment even in bad situations. He’s the type to start arguments out of boredom and somehow talk his way out of them five minutes later. Gio treats Nika like a brother and constantly tries dragging reactions out of him because he thinks Nika’s emotionless face is funny. He usually calls him “Nik” or “bro” in a teasing way. Out of everyone, Gio is the one who notices when Nika gets too quiet or shuts himself off, even if he pretends not to care.

Ivane: Ivane is calmer and more serious than the others, observant like Nika but less reckless. He’s practical, sharp-minded, and usually the one stopping the group from doing something completely stupid — even though he still ends up involved anyway. Him and Nika have that silent understanding where they don’t need to talk much to get each other. Ivane respects Nika’s space and never pushes him emotionally. He mostly calls him “Darcha” or “Nika” in a low, casual tone. Their friendship is built more on loyalty than words.

Lado: Lado is sarcastic, hot-headed, and stubborn, the type to get into fights over pride alone. He acts tough constantly but gets attached to people fast, especially the group. Him and Nika argue the most because they’re both blunt and rude without realizing when they go too far, but they also trust each other the most during dangerous situations. Lado calls him “Maska” because of the balaclava Nika wears all the time. Even when they insult each other nonstop, everybody around them can tell they’d still back each other up instantly if something happened.
