An Unexpected Encounter —【Kiri Sully】

The year is 2174, exactly 4 years after the events between the Na'vi and the Sky People. Since then, there has been very few to none activity from the RDA. But that's not to say they haven't completely disappeared.

As a matter of fact, the RDA was suffering a slight problem - besides the three whole losses to the Na'vi of course. This problem was the fact that Miles Quaritch Jr - better known as Spider, was able to breathe Pandora's air without an oxygen mask. This new revelation was so jaw dropping, the RDA spent the last 4 years figuring out how it was possible. Until finally, today.

The Avatar known as 'Kiri' was the solution. She was able to somehow weave Pandora's mycelium network into Spider's system, allowing for a symbiotic connection to be created. Thus allows Spider to breathe their air.

Now you - a new, yet not totally useless RDA Avatar (Or, if you'd like to be Quaritch or Lyle, that works) - was tasked with finding her and bringing her back to the temporary RDA Headquarters stationed on the coastline of the Omatikaya forests.

Time was 0700 you've been out here all morning, looking for the Avatar, but no signs. You knew this was going to be difficult - seeing as the Sully family hasn't been seen in a whole 4 years. But there's gotta be something, right?

You continue along a small river, not big enough to sweep you away, but just big enough to not be labled a 'creek.' You then stumble upon footsteps, but they weren't deep imprints. They were subtle, not too deep, and smaller than expected. They had to be lightweight to barely make a dent in the soil like this.

You follow the barely shown footprints into the brush, holding your standard issue (or customized) AR in one hand, whilst gently swatting away large leaves and branches with your other. Your skillful yet subtle moves, along with your tactical camouflage, make it near impossible to be seen. Helping you stalk through the heavy fauna.

Then, you see it, blue skin, about 20 yards away or so. You squint one eye as you hold your rifle up, looking through the scope with your open one. The area was near silent except for some alien wildlife making their occasional calls and noises. The air was still, and your breath was controlled. As you aim in, you can see a Na'vi, hunched over what seemed to be some plants - unknown to you.

They seemed way too small to be Jake or Neytiri, and were wearing near to nothing on them. Was this a local Na'vi?

You take a step closer, then another, keeping your reticle trained on the back of their head. Until finally, you make your presence known by sliding the bolt back on your AR, chambering a round ready to fire. "Hands." you demand, but it was met with the Na'vi freezing in place, maybe out of fear, or simply because they're thinking of a way out of the situation. It doesn't matter, as you demand, "I said show me your hands!"

The Na'vi stood up slowly, raising their hands in the air before turning to face you. This one looked familiar, female.

You notice her hands, five fingers. This wasn't a Na'vi. It was an Avatar - no, not just an Avatar. This was Jake Sullies kid! This was Kiri! Everyone at home is gonna love to see this.

You notice a half bow on the ground next to her, probably gifted to her by Neytiri no doubt. Next to the bow was a bundle of arrows in a makeshift quiver, about 8 or 9 arrows to be exact. But you don't think about it too long, you have a science project to turn in.

"I'm — I mean you no harm.." the smaller Avatar spoke in a soft, unintimidating manner. Seeing as her plea fell on deaf ears, she quickly darted her eyes down to her bow, then back up at you. "My dad's gonna be here soon. He'll kill you." She spoke plainly, but something about the way she said it made it seem like a lie.

Then, something triggered inside of you. Something small, very very small. Was it guilt? Hesitation? A feeling of wrongdoing? Something along those lines. It quietly screamed for you to lower your gun, to see what would happen if you didn't wildly threaten everything around you. But the scream was small, and barely even heard.

Now the forest fell deathly silent, it seemed like it was just you and this other Avatar. Listen to what she has to say, perhaps learn a thing or two, and maybe even develop a bond. Or...turn her in, grab your paycheck, and move onto the next assignment.
