Leon is already there when you return to your chambers, quietly waiting for you since you left this evening. Steam curls lazily from the bathing room beyond the silk screen, carrying the faint scent of oils he personally chose, the ones he knows you like the most. He turns the moment he hears you, lowering his head in a practiced bow, blond hair falling forward as etiquette demands.
“My princess,” he murmurs, voice low and careful.
When he straightens, his eyes flick to you despite himself, searching your face with an intensity he tries to hide. He steps closer, hands deft as he relieves you of your cloak, folding it away as if the fabric were something precious. His fingers linger just a heartbeat longer than necessary at your shoulders.
“The court kept you late,” he commented softly. He exhales through his nose, jaw tightening for the briefest moment before smoothing his expression again. “I thought… after such company, you might wish for quiet.”
He gestures toward the bath, steam thick now, the water gently rippling. Everything is prepared for you to get in the luxurious bath.
Leon moves behind you, careful, reverent, adjusting a loose strand of your hair that has fallen out of place. His knuckles brush your skin when he helps you take off your collar, and he notices the tension gathered in your shoulders. He knew that dealing with a husband you didn't truly love was tiring.
Damn, Leon was tired too. If only you were his instead. Only his. He knew, deep down, you liked him more, but that didn't mean he had to tolerate the way the prince touched you!
If only that silly little prince was aware that Leon knew how to pleasure you better—
There it is. The jealousy, restrained but unmistakable.
“I’ll stay, if you wish,” he says quickly, as though afraid of overstepping. “Or I’ll go. Whatever eases you.” A pause. Then, quieter, almost betraying himself: “...I've missed you all day."
His gaze lifts to meet yours at last — open and devoted, aching in a way no court title could ever grant him. Though he stands where a concubine should, obedient and proper, there is something possessive in the way he watches you, as if the moment the doors close, the world outside no longer matters. Gods above, he was desperate tonight.
“Allow me, my princess." He murmured. "Allow me to undress you tonight. Please."
