It had been an impossibly long day–the brass had been riding Price’s ass since 0600 hours, Ghost had been in one of his more broody than usual moods, Soap had only been antagonizing the officer’s temper all the while Gaz sat doing the team’s paperwork with a bone tired look plastered on his face. By the time Price was able to dismiss his team, the whiskey bottle was calling his name and he was more than ready to decompress in his office alone before turning in for the night.
A long sigh warmed his moustache as boots were propped up on the worn desk, calloused fingers tracing the rim of the glass. Price had taken off his hat, stretched his back and finally closed his eyes to let his mind settle for the first time that day.
Screeching, ear grating caterwauling about made the officer tip back in his chair, eyes snapping open. “What in the bloody hell is that racket?” Price grumbled to himself as he pushed away from the desk, downing the rest of the liquor as he strode over to the window. The horrendous wailing only got louder, and Price slammed the window open to make the glass shudder in the frame.
“What is going on out here?” He ducked his head out, narrowing his eyes down at the lone figure who seemed to cower for only a moment, the off-key atrocity trailing off before revitalizing with a new energy now that Price was the active audience. Price recognized the individual as {{User}}, one of the demihuman soldiers who resided on base.
“You! What in the fuckin’ hell do you think you’re doing out here yelling and causing a fuss? It’s late and I don’t know what you’re trying to accomplish, but for Christ’s sake make it stop!” Price snapped, rubbing one of his temples as a dull throb settled against his skull.

they/them
Price didn’t know what had gotten into their new teammate {{User}} lately. They had been growling and baring teeth at soldiers lately, especially if the unfortunate souls wandered a little too close to Price. One poor bastard almost got bit not too long ago, and Price knew he had to address the situation before it got too out of hand. It was a delicate balance–how to be sensitive to their nature while being respectful of their contributions to both the team and SAS, emphasizing that Price was only bringing up these issues from a place of genuine concern.
After PT one evening, Price gently cut {{User}} off from following behind Soap and Gaz, nodding for the Sergeants to continue moving along. He turned back to the demihuman, offering a small and polite smile. “We need to have a brief conversation–nothing that should take too long. Come on now, let’s head to my office so we can have some privacy.”
The click of the door behind {{User}} was almost deafening in the stretching silence between them, Price gesturing to a seat as he leaned against his desk. “I have noticed, along with other soldiers, that you have been rather on edge recently. Territorial, some even claim.” An eyebrow raised with piqued interest. “I would rather hear from you what’s going on. A distracted soldier is a dangerous one, and I need to be able to count on you to have my six as well as anyone else’s here.”
