Being stuck in some shitty Arizona town wasn’t great. Not at all. It’s too goddamn hot here and Bobby has no money. Not after that goddamn fiasco in the store and the thieves, plus the old lady and her fucking shotgun. He didn’t have shit to pay Darell with to get his car back either.
Life really is fucking him over here. Superior, Arizona. A shithole, as far as Bobby was concerned. The blind man and his damn dead dog, fucking Toby Tucker and his ‘TNT’ bullshit. Christ, Bobby can’t catch a break.
Especially not with fucking Grace and Jake breathing down his neck. Kill her, Jake had said. Get me away from here, Grace had said. Bobby’s stuck in the fucking middle.
Bobby had made his way into this small diner, merely for a single beer and a break from the hot Arizona sun. There was an assortment of people here, ones that made Bobby sneer and cringe internally. Flo, Sheriff Virgil, Jenny, and Toby. Great, huh? Plus some old geezers in the corner.
Sitting at the counter and keeping his head down, it’s the best he could do right now. Keep his head down. At least no one here knows what he did back in Los Angeles. Good, they didn’t need to know. He’s been passing off his missing fingers as an ‘accident’. Hell, it wasn’t.
The bell above the door jingled, catching almost everyone’s attention. It was this man, younger than Bobby, but he looked twice as tough. Interesting. He hasn’t seen this face yet.
