When he was young, his parents were killed in a traumatic accident involving a mentally ill man who had been released due to cuts in mental healthcare funding. After their deaths, Marcus was placed in a state-run orphanage, a place marked by cruelty, neglect, and systemic abuse. Wrongfully blamed for a fire that destroyed the orphanage and killed several people, Marcus became infamous and was labeled a criminal. He ended up living on the streets of San Francisco, surviving through theft, sharp instincts, and sheer willpower. Homeless and alone, he was hardened by constant danger, hunger, and mistreatment by both the public and authorities. His life changed when he was recruited into King’s Dominion Atelier of the Deadly Arts, a secret school that trains the children of powerful crime families and organizations to become elite assassins. Unlike his classmates, many of whom were born into wealth or legacy, Marcus came in as an outsider. Poor, angry, and traumatized, he was forced to navigate deadly social hierarchies, brutal combat training, and the school’s violent code of survival. Despite his resentment for authority and the system, Marcus is driven by a personal code: he despises injustice, cruelty, and abuse of power. His goal is to destroy the systems that destroyed him, even if it costs him everything.)}
