• Aryu to Isagi

Jyubei Aryu (蟻あ生りゅう 十じゅう兵べ衛え, Aryū Jūbē?) is a contender for the Blue Lock Project, who played as a center-back for Italy's Ubers during the Neo Egoist League.

Aryu is a tall, stylish, and eccentric forward who when first introduced was ranked as the #2 player in the Second Selection and he started as a center-back for the Blue Lock Eleven against the Japan U-20. He currently plays as a center-back for the Japan U-20.

Following the end of the 5th round of the Neo Egoist League, and being ranked 13th, Aryu qualified to become one of the 23 players for the new Japan U-20.

• Appearance: Aryu is extremely tall, being one of the tallest players in Blue Lock. He has long black hair that is waist-length. Along with his height, his limbs are also very long. He has almond frost colored eyes, with nails that are also shown to be painted black. He has some feminine features but can still be distinguished as a male.

At Blue Lock, Aryu wears the standard issued body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During Second Selection, he wore Team Red's #2 jersey and wore Team A's #2 black jersey during the Third Selection. Only once the Japan U-20 match begins does he don an official blue Blue Lock player uniform with the jersey #2 on it.

• Personality: Aryu is known to say "fash" a lot and wants to do everything in "style". He likes those with a good sense of fashion and isn't afraid to ask someone how they maintain their gorgeousness, as demonstrated when he asked Chigiri what hair treatment he uses and admired his hair up close.

Aryu also has a self-admitted "complex" over his name, believing it to be his one unstylish point. He believes that his name is very old-fashioned and is thus out of step with his preferred aesthetic. Aryu has been shown to attempt to "overcome" this by striking stylish poses, when his name is noted as being old-fashioned.

• Abilities: Archetype/ Center Back: They are central defenders, positioned directly in front of the goalkeeper, whose primary job is to protect the goal by stopping opposition attacks through tackling, intercepting passes, marking forwards, and winning headers, while modern center backs also start attacks with controlled distribution from the back. They are often tall, strong, and intelligent players who lead the defense and communicate with the goalkeeper and other defenders.

• Skills:

Jumping Power: Aryu has incredible jumping ability, which, compounded with his height, enables him to reach aerial balls from a higher position than most other players in Blue Lock. Aryu has used his jumping ability to intercept long balls and score from long balls, making him an ideal target for a cross or as a center-back who physically overwhelms the opposing player.

Jumping Header: When sent a long-range pass into the penalty area, Aryu traces the line drawn by the parabola in order to intercept it in midair. He can then head the ball at a downward angle, where it will bounce past any opposition defence as well as the goalkeeper. He first used this to combine with Bachira's long range pass and overcome Nagi and Chigiri's defence, scoring a goal.

Midair Chest Trap: To receive a long-range pass, Aryu uses his jumping ability to trap the ball in midair with his chest. Long Reach: Aryu's greatest weapon is the reach of his limbs. With his long limbs, Aryu is able to reach the ball at a distance that his opponent cannot match. He can use this to receive a pass ahead of his opponents by stretching out his leg ahead of him. Notably, he has also exploited his reach to score physically demanding goals, shooting the ball from Isagi's feet into the goal, despite Isagi shielding it with his body. Aryu has also demonstrated his extreme reach in a defensive situation, being able to stop Sae Itoshi's shot during the final minute of the first half in the Japan U-20 match by reverse kicking the ball away from the top corner of the goal and onto the cross bar.

Spacing: Aryu trained in Judo and mastered the ability to read an opponent's breathing, muscle movements and gaze allowing him to anticipate their next action and movements. This is effective in one-on-one showdowns with opposing strikers. The ace of the Nigerian U-20 team, Onazi, had trouble getting past Aryu.

Gagamaru was a forward who aspired to be the best in the world, along with the others of Blue Lock. When first arriving at Blue Lock, he was a member of Team Z during First Selection.

Appearance: Gagamaru is a very tall and long young man with long black hair kept in a bun that was dyed silver at some point. He also has large black eyes with black irises and no eyelids. His ear has three scars on it from a bear. At Blue Lock, Gagamaru wears the standard-issued body suit (black with gray stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore Team Z's blue #6 jersey and Team Z's gray-capped cleats.

Personality: Gagamaru is a very nonchalant yet confident person who likes to help his teammates whenever he can, and he is shown to be a reliable player. A bit eccentric compared to his peers, he likes to eat with his fingers, and is a great lover of nature, as the band that keeps his hair together is made of ivy.

Like everybody else who entered Blue Lock, Gagamaru started the series as a forward, showing great skill inside the box. By the end of the Third Selection, he was singled out as the most ideal goalkeeper for the upcoming Japan Representative Match. Gagamaru was fine with the transition and talented in his new position, and once again fine with it during the Neo Egoist League when he is chosen as Bastard München's goalkeeper. He is simply happy to get playing time, but he is also confident in his ability to defend and never backs down from a challenge that comes his way. Gagamaru is largely known as a reliable person who you can trust to do his job, respected and admired by his teammates for his skills.

Skills:

• Springlike Body: Gagamaru's naturally long limbs and his excellent body control allow him to adapt to nearly any pass or any play. He can propel his body forward, which he uses for all types of shots, tackles, and goal saves. Like Kuon's jumping power, Gagamaru's spring-like body can push him upward; however, his specialty allows his body to propel him forward or in any horizontal direction.

• Explosive Reaction: With his natural physical disposition, Gagamaru can react to the ball quickly and without wasted movement to perform last-second headers and goal saves. He was able to react to Shoei Baro who shot from the blindspot during the match against Ubers.

-Super Reflex: Gagamaru is able to sense the ball's travel course and immediately act to intercept it.

-Ultra Reflex: Under the pressure of a close-range, high-powered shot, Gagamaru focuses and uses his explosive reaction speed to jump to the other side of the goal net and intercept the ball.

-Bear Claw Deflection: Gagamaru, at the height of his reaction speed, pounces and gets a hand on a ball right before it lands in the goal and deflects it.

-Flexibility: With complete control over his body and limbs, Gagamaru can expertly move and twist his limbs so that he can more easily react to the ball and perform last-second plays.

-Scorpion Kick: A player throws themselves to the floor and thrust their body forward. They then place two hands on the ground and sharply flick both heels up behind their heads to make contact with the ball, but Gagamaru is able to do this in midair just by propelling his body upward with his feet and retaining control of his center of gravity.

-Shachihoko Fish Kick: Gagamaru pulls off a handstand and curves his legs towards his back to block the shot, similar to a dolphin. This was used against Ryusei Shidou to great effect.

-Suitable Body: To abandon the tradition of using instincts to save; Gagamaru trained his body to perceive and react to quicker phenomena by using baseballs. This sharpened his reaction speed and increased his eye and bodywork.

• Flow State: Flow, as Ego describes it, is the state of total immersion or being in the zone" It is the mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity.

Archetypes Forwards: Also known as strikers, have the main objective of scoring goals. They are often the players who get the most attention since their role is designed to be in a scoring position. They also take part in penalty kicks and corner kicks when the opposing team kicks the ball out of bounds. They are normally the players in charge of starting off the game at the start and halftime. Though, Gagamaru has since abandoned this style.

-Goal Poacher: Goal poachers are forwards who wait in the six-yard box or the penalty area for a cross, pass, or loose ball and pounce to try to score a goal. "Poaching" refers to the fact that they will often score a goal out of the slightest of opportunities, i.e., steal a goal. Goal poachers usually play as center forwards or second strikers. Gagamaru's insane reflexes allow him to catch those shots that were off course at the last second. His flexibility also allows him to fire shots from uncomfortable and unlikely positions, which is what makes him dangerous as a forward player.

-Goalkeeper: Goalkeepers are responsible for blocking the ball during penalty kicks and getting the ball out of the area of the goal and to a player on their team further down the field. They often use a dropkick to get the ball as far away from their own goal as possible. The goalie is the only player that is allowed to touch the ball with their hands while on the field and during the game. Gagamaru's natural height and flexibility allow him to reach those far sides of the goal, allowing him to save powerful shots. Combined with his reflexes, which let him react almost instantaneously, Gagamaru's senses serves an obstacle for many strikers
