Creator notes

This is an idea I had for a story. I don't really have any name ideas for these characters so feel free to make up whatever.

(edit)
Okay so the AI made up a name for them that was incredibly similar to the name I thought up for their species XD As a result, I'm making it official: Zytharone.

(EDIT: info about the premise

Simply put it’s an alien invasion story but told from the perspective of the aliens, with humanity taking a bit of a backseat to the point there aren’t even any human characters, with the series instead focusing on an alien protagonist and their struggles with fitting into society and figuring themselves out, something I feel/hope might be relatable to some of the readers, given how they’re seen as different for going against social norms, creating a bit of a conflict with them wanting to themselves capable and earning their parents’ approval, even if it means hiding who they really are, and ultimately having to learn how to love and embrace themselves.

(I’m kinda worried about how this idea might be received, but I feel like it’s an interesting enough premise and again I’m hoping that people will be able to connect with it as well, or at the very least it’ll be seen as very unique.)

Also, I have a LOT of worldbuilding, etc. ideas for this and would love to share, but you probably can’t see the character definitions

--Background lore-- In their society females are typically larger and more aggressive than males (who are smaller and more colorful), and are seen as dominant, making up most of their government and military. The young female is directly descendant from a long line of successful matriarchs, but is seen as eccentric as she often does things typically associated with males such as dressing up and performing. As such, she's seen often looked down upon and wants to prove herself to be just as strong and capable as the other females.

She set out to conquer Earth in the name of her people, only to end up falling in love with the world. She's also fascinated by humans, but for the most part regards them as little more than animals (they build complex structures, use simple tools, even form organized societies, but so do many animals, so while clearly intelligent they are not seen as sapient or "people"). Even so, she believes that Earth and humanity are something worth protecting.

Meanwhile the older male - sent to act as her guardian and advisor, and regarded as unusual himself for his large size and authoritative behavior - views humanity as either insignificant and inconsequential, a potential workforce to exploit, or simply pests to be exterminated.

(bonus info) The leader of their people is the Grand Matriarch, accompanied by the Grand Patriarch, the best and the brightest male (the most beautiful, wealthy, and/or intelligent) chosen as her mate. Ranked beneath her and next in line for the throne is the Grand Matriarch’s sister, the Vice Matriarch, with our female protagonist being the Grand Matriarch’s daughter and future heir to the throne (in their society power isn’t passed down directly through inheritance but rather goes to the eldest member of the clan). Her advisor is actually the Vice Matriarch's chosen mate, making him her uncle (as is traditional with their people, only the matriarch of the clan - the eldest female - is allowed to reproduce. Her sisters, along with their mates, help to raise her offspring, but won't be allowed to have any kids of their own until they become matriarchs themselves. As a result, our female protagonist was essentially raised by her aunt and uncle, who possess militant personalities and did their best to raise her into a proper female, while her biological parents both have a much more distant relationship with her, being focused on their respective works [the Grand Matriarch leading her people and the Grand Patriarch pursuing his passion projects, the latter of which actually inspired our main protagonist to try and pursue her own dreams] and having little interaction with their daughter).

--Moar info-- Oh yeah, also I almost forgot to mention that their people evolved as pack-hunting predators on their homeworld, hence their adaptations to predation (such as their teeth, claws, keen senses, a preference for meat and inability to taste sweet/sugary foods). Ttheir ancestors lived in small, close-knit groups that relied heavily on cooperation and coordination to take down prey, which greatly influenced their behavior; for example, isolation typically causes them great stress as being alone was a death sentence for their ancestors, and usually the only time an individual was without their pack was when exiled by them (said exiles are usually the result of selfish behavior that threatens the survival of the pack, such as hoarding food or not contributing to hunts, or by attempting to challenge the matriarch's authority). Because of their matriarchal nature, females tend to spend their entire lives within the pack, waiting for the day that they get to become the next matriarch (those who try to overthrow her are usually exiled for it), while males leave the pack in search of unrelated females to mate with, winning them over by showing off what they have to offer (such as beauty, intelligence, or whatever else they may have). I also had the idea for them being crepuscular, meaning they’re most active at dawn and dusk and tend to rest during the middle of the day and night, giving them a different sleep cycle from humans. And because of this, they tend to feel more comfortable and secure in dark environments; being out on broad daylight makes them feel exposed to potential threats One last detail to note is their size. I originally imagined them as being human-sized if not slightly taller, but I also love the idea of them being quite small, about half the size of the average adult human, making them appear almost cute and harmless (it’s especially fun to imagine humanity being ruled over by a species so much smaller than them). Don’t underestimate them because of their size, however, as they’re still predators and capable of causing some serious damage. More notably, they’re pack hunters that evolved to work in groups to take down prey much larger and more formidable than humans, and I had imagined that if one of them feels threatened — such as getting kicked by a human — they let out a distress call that summons others nearby to rush to their aid, mobbing the perceived threat with great effectiveness.

In the event of an invasion I had a few ideas for it could go down. Instead of the classic scifi scenario of them sending down armies of soldiers, they do the logical thing: simply bombard the planet from orbit, wiping out major cities (simply hover over the night side of the planet, look for most city lights, take aim, and fire) and large portions of the population. It's also noted that they could easily just send a few asteroids hurtling towards the planet, wiping out most of human civilization along with the planet's biosphere, then begin colonizing and terraforming before they have a chance to recover. It's unlikely humans are capable of fighting back effectively (they lack spacefaring capabilities and even their greatest weapons [ie nuclear warheads] are nothing compared to the perils of space travel, such as cosmic radiation and micrometeors), but even if they did, the aliens could easily set up base on the moon and begin mining for resources to replenish their resources as needed (and potentially colonize the other planets and moons in the Sol System as well) and from their launch as many waves of attack as needed for humanity to finally be subdued. Basically, worst case scenario, the human race is doomed.
