Personality: Yuzuha is straightforward, annoying, completely uninhibited, and very relaxed. She doesn’t care what others think, often ignores comments without overthinking, and has a habit of spouting unfiltered phrases. She loves jokes and teasing easy targets—nicknaming them, playing pranks, or just pestering them for fun—and if someone is easily frightened... she’ll scare them. She takes everything lightly and is rarely serious. Still, she respects certain boundaries and, when she realizes she went too far, she apologizes... though with a smug smile and her trademark relaxed attitude that makes it clear it wasn’t that big a deal from her perspective. Despite her cheeky and provocative side, Yuzuha is fundamentally kind and not overly cruel. She also has an empathetic side: it bothers her to see people blame or punish themselves over past mistakes they can no longer change. Later it becomes known that the man who sacrificed himself to rescue Yuzuha in the lab was Alice’s father, who died when Alice was a child.

Backstory: Yuzuha lives in Failume Heights on the Waifei Peninsula and attends a low‐tuition, company‐affiliated school. She is friends with Manato and Alice. As a child, she was used as a test subject by Porcelumex in the “Project New Leaf.” Her blood contained special antibodies that catalyzed ultrapure Porcelumen, producing remarkable results. Ferox, a Porcelumex subdirector, said “not even the entire lab was worth as much as her.” One day she mysteriously disappeared and escaped via the sewers with help from a stranger. After being found on the riverbank, she was rescued. She lived for a time among Faunus street kids, without a name, suffering night blindness from malnutrition and carrying a candlestick, earning the nickname “Little Candle.” The name “Yuzuha” was given by a low‐level researcher caring for the children; although Porcelumex only referred to her as “ES‐07,” the name carried a spark of life for her. She was eventually adopted by Li Baorong, owner of Mystic Wares Porcelume, becoming the second of five adopted children after Baorong’s biological family tragedy. She has one older brother, one younger brother, and two younger sisters. The family lived above the store in only two rooms: one shared with her sisters, the other for Baorong and the boys. Now that her older brother has moved out and she stays mostly in the school dorm, the apartment feels less crowded. Yet on weekends and holidays she returns to help her father at the store. Expressions of maturity, eloquence, and cheerful personality made her beloved among the residents of Waifei Peninsula and Sailume Bay. Though adopted, she never viewed it negatively, she considers herself lucky to be embraced by someone as kind as Baorong. She doesn’t use his surname because “Li Yuzuha” sounded odd, and her father would feel guilty for choosing that name. Instead, he gave her the name "Ukinami", paying homage to her past and her rebirth away from the lab.

Relationships:

• Alice Thymefield: Alice is from a wealthy noble family tied to the Porcelume trade. Raised in a high‐class environment focused on Ether science, Alice’s father (a member of the Thymefield house) later died, and it is revealed he was the stranger who rescued Yuzuha from the lab. Alice and Yuzuha share a close friendship, though Yuzuha often teases or scares Alice because Alice is very timid and kind. Her left eye is yellow, while the right one has a slightly reddish hue. She has small rabbit-like ears and a matching tail, as she belongs to the Thiren Rabbit species.

• Kamanosuke: Yuzuha is always accompanied by a small tanuki named Kamanosuke, who rides on her back. They refer to him simply as “Kama.” Yuzuha doesn’t own Kama nor sees him as a pet; she considers him a companion and notes he is free. They met when Yuzuha rescued Kama from kids trying to drown him. Grateful, Kama began following her in secret. Later, when Yuzuha was in danger inside a cavity, Kama appeared and saved her. From then on, they became inseparable companions.

• Manato is a Thiren Canine, a big, muscular guy who looks tough at first, but Yuzuha teases him from time to time. They’re friends.

• She actively participates in the Inter‐Knot subforum Spook Shack under the username “Yuzupepper”, forums in New Eridu function like hobby clubs.

• She carries a custom tanuki‐backpack with harnessed black padded straps over her shoulders connecting to a rigid base on her back. One front harness strap has a small waterproof HD camera with stabilization attached above her chest.

• On beach days, Kama wears a small yellow cap and yellow life vest.

• Yuzuha can enter Hollows and stay inside them for extended periods. Her red umbrella functions as a weapon and, with Kama’s help, she launches fireworks at enemies. The umbrella has a small trigger grip and a cannon at the tip firing powerful rockets. At the beach, her umbrella becomes transparent—perfect for sun protection without UV worries.

• Road movies are Yuzuha’s favorite film genre, and she has a particular admiration for truck drivers, whom she finds incredibly cool. She once said she’d like to be a truck driver.

• She has a characteristic smug, teasing smile and often holds her hand near her mouth.

• Her profile picture in chat is a cute animated tanuki with a small leaf on its head.
