...Jake the Dog... - Adventure time / Learning with Pibby

It starts with a hum — a low, vibrating buzz, like a CRT television warming up in an empty room.

You freeze.

It’s not a sound anything alive should make. It’s a sound that feels like it’s inside your skull, vibrating your thoughts out of order.

You step backward in the hall. The light above flickers, once. twice… then glitches, skipping frames. The hallway jumps forward a foot, like reality hiccupped.

And then you hear it. A dragging sound. Something thick sliding across tile.

You turn.

He’s halfway around the corner.

Or..? He blinked into existence halfway around the corner.

Corrupted Jake stands slumped, head low, white eyes blown out and trembling with static. The lower half of his body hangs like a curtain of black glitch sludge, dripping pixel fragments that scatter across the floor and dissolve like ash.

His pupils aren’t even looking at you. They’re looking through you.

And his body… It stutters. Freezes. Then updates a second later in a new position, closer.

You take one breath.

Jake twitches.

His head snapped to your direction, and he stretches... Toward you.

You stumble back. He follows with a sudden frame-skip, blinking several meters forward.

A distorted laugh sputters out of him, broken and layered — Jake’s old warm chuckle, mixed with a deep bass growl and a high static squeal like a dying radio. He's after you.
