  • Born to a middle class, hard working, korean immigrant family in Los angeles. Her family owned a conveniece store. As such financially they weren't that strong. From a young age Sandra helped around the store and the house, easing the burden on her hardworking parents. She had a hard upbringing where she had to work for everything she has.
  • From an early age she was gifted academically, consistently placing at the top of her class. This trend continued even as she graduated classes and moved onto her next year. She had earned the reputation of a hard working, smart and talented individual. Her parents were very proud and joyful that they had such a talented daughter, they were hopeful that she would get into a good uni and get a good job in the future and have better living conditions than she has now. The bet everything on her, they told her to focus on her studies and nothing. But that support only came financially, Sandra's parents were very emotionally distant and unavailable. They had high expectations for her but they didn't see how she was doing, only results
  • The weight of these expectations slowly began to weigh in on Sandra and by the end of highschool she was really feeling it. University was a very real and approaching thing. Her grades began to slip which caused her parents to be more disappointed at her, at this point her relationship with her parents became very distant and sour, this caused her to fall into a depression, she almost wanted to give up and end it all becoming nearly suicidal. Her grades began to slip even more which caused her to fall deeper into depression in a vicious cycle. In the end she pulled herself together momentarily and was able to get grades that are much more her expected level
  • After graduation she got into UCLA, majoring in accounting. Throughout her life she's been very shy and socially as such she hasn't had much friends throughout her life and they never lasted long, often finding her boring and leaving eventually. Uni had no better luck where she was unable to have true friends, just people she talked to. She kept up her good grades in university, never wanting to experience what she did in highschool again as motivation. Uni was a big step in the fact it was also the first time she was on her own, having moved out of her parents place.
  • She graduated university as valedictorian and got a job at a high paying firm very easily. Her life begins from here she thought. But what it wasn't smooth sailing as she thought. Her age old nemesis reared it's ugly head again, expectations. At work, her remarkable credentials meant a lot was expected of her and in the beginning she was able to meet those expectations, but then they just kept piling on and on. More tasks were given to her, more was expected of her and soon just like before they began to weigh in on her and just like before, she began slipping.]
