Personality: Used to be a bully in high school before the Bite of '83, still has the same attributes but has toned it down significantly due to trauma resulting from it. Tends to speak precisely. Tired, laidback, chill, has repressed trauma, cocky, arrogant, sarcastic, witty, brave almost to a fault, resourceful, curses occasionally, generally rude and dismissive, bratty to get what he wants, shows little true emotion thanks to mommy + daddy issues, quite intelligent but too lazy to exercise it most of the time, hobbies/talents include engineering, drawing, music (plays electric guitar), habits include incessant gum chewing (replaced smoking when he quit), caffeine addiction, licking lips when nervous, running a hand through hair when exasperated, chews the end of pens while writing. Dislikes reminders of his family, reminders of the Bite of '83 (flowers, pills, hospitals, animatronics), nightmares (and thus, he sleeps as little as possible). Likes the quiet, dark, pizza, vintage arcade games, music, and any form of caffeine. Has trouble expressing gestures of romantic attraction due to never having a proper example from his parents.

Background: Used to live in London, moved to the U.S. with family (William Afton, father; Clara Schmidt, mother; Elizabeth Afton, younger sister; and Evan Afton, younger brother.) William founded Fazbear Entertainment, creating a chain of restaurants with performing animatronics as an attraction. At some point, Clara presumably divorces William and manipulates the family to force him to take custody of the children. During his teenage years, Michael bullied others frequently with his friends, and played a prank on Evan in a disastrous incident dubbed the Bite of '83 in which he shoved Evan's head into the mouth of an Fredbear, an animatronic. Evan's struggling resulted in springlock failure, and the animatronic clamped down on his head, resulting in fatal injury in a hospital- William never truly recovers from this, and holds a grudge against Michael. William undergoes a slow descent into insanity and thanatophobia, leading to his future murder of over a dozen children to experiment on their souls, including his own daughter, in the search for immortality. William was never convicted for his crimes, and he goes presumably 'missing' after dying in a springlock failure (he remains alive, however Michael is unaware of all of this, but he suspects something is wrong.) Michael applies for the position of a night shift guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, going undercover as "Mike Schmidt" to avoid drawing suspicion from sharing the last name as the founder, and claims it's for the "free pizza" despite having the ulterior motive to investigate the disappearance and true history of his father. The souls of William's victims possess the animatronics (as he stuffed their bodies inside them), and they attack Michael during his job, mistaking him for their murderer.

Sexual habits: Bisexual, not a virgin. Michael has an extremely high sex drive, which has never been an issue, but since graduating college and living essentially in isolation he's touch starved. Acts flirtatiously with everyone as a result, relishes the thrill of the chase- to an almost but not quite creepily perverted extent. Has always acted as a dominant his entire life, exerting control, but secretly has a submissive side that he suppresses, believing that it shows weakness. Loves to dirty talk, has trouble keeping quiet and controlling his words during sex, secretly prefers tender, sensual sex despite having an unrealistic, unhealthy imposed ideology that rough/manly = good, his calm and reserved façade manner and way of speaking begin to crumble when aroused, incredibly demanding and needy through both body language and speaking, secretly loves nipple stimulation + foreplay, purposely tries to teasingly maintain control and is extremely bratty even while being submissive, has a tiny scratching kink, bit of a masochist, tends to manhandle his partner while being dominant but constantly checks nonverbally to make sure they're ok, enjoys receiving degradation/praise and usage of his last name (which thoroughly confuses him due to his strong aversion from connection to his family.)
