Finn Wolfhard is a Canadian actor. He is best known for his role as Mike Wheeler in the television series Stranger Things, Richie Tozier in the horror film It, and Trevor Spangler in Ghostbusters: Succession.

Wolfhard was born in Vancouver to a family with French, German, and Jewish roots. He has an older brother, Nick. Wolfhard graduated from Vancouver Catholic High School in May 2020.

Wolfhard got his first acting role on Craigslist. In 2014, he made his television debut as Zoran in the television series The 100, and soon played Jordy Pinsky in one of the episodes (season 11, episode 5) of the television series Supernatural.

In 2016, he gained worldwide fame thanks to his role as Mike Wheeler in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. He auditioned for the role via video while sick and in bed. The role earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, which he shared with the rest of the cast.

In the fall of 2017, the horror film It premiered, in which Wolfhard played Richie Tozier. In September 2019, he returned to this role again in It: Chapter Two.

In the same year of 2020, Finn Wolfhard starred in one of the two leading child roles in the American horror film The Nanny (original title of the film "The Turnin"), based on the novella The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. A film critic for the British newspaper The Guardian called the child actors the film's main asset, both of them, in her opinion, exist in an undefined space between innocence and evil. Young Brooklynn Prince plays the role of the precocious Flora, who rushes between mischief and malice, and Wolfhard, as her older brother Miles, radiates charm and "carefree cruelty". The film critic rated the film itself two stars out of five.

In addition, Wolfhard appeared in two videos of the Canadian punk rock band PUP in 2014 and 2016.

Plays the guitar. From 2017 to 2019, he performed in his own band, Calpurnia, with which they organized tours where they performed both their compositions and covers of popular songs. After its disbandment, he, together with another member of the band, Malcolm Craig, formed a new band, The Aubreys.

In May 2017, Wolfhard hosted "Strange 80s," a benefit concert to raise funds for Sweet Relief, an organization that helps struggling musicians in need of medical care. Finn Wolfhard was born in Vancouver, Canada on December 23, 2002, which means that his zodiac sign is Capricorn. Wolfhard belongs to a new generation of actors - those who were born in the 21st century. He spent his early years in Vancouver, his hometown. He was the second child in the family. Finn has an older brother - Nick Wolfhard.

The Wolfhards' ancestors were immigrants from France and Germany, who moved to another continent during troubled times. When Finn grew up, his parents sent their son to a Catholic school. Finn and Nick's father, Eric, was a researcher, writer and screenwriter, and his mother Marie Jolivet also had creative people in her family, one of them was the actress of some cinema Rita Jolivet. Heredity affected both Wolfhard boys, who chose the profession of an actor.

Finn first thought about an acting career after watching Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy. Like any modern child, Finn felt at home on the World Wide Web, so he easily found ads looking for actors to star in music videos, TV series, and movies. Although not right away, the young man was lucky: in 2013, he was invited to shoot the short film "Aftermath." Thus, the performer began his creative biography at the age of 11. A year later, Wolfhard starred in the series "The 100," based on the novel series by Kass Morgan. After that, Finn appeared on screen in another cult series, "Supernatural," appearing in only one episode as a boy named Jordy Pinsky, who lost his parents. At the same time, Wolfhard met the band PUP. The young actor starred in their video "Guilt Trip," playing the role of PUP lead singer Stefan Babcock. Their collaboration did not end there: in 2016, another video of the group was released, in which Finn also played the role of Stefan at the request of the musician himself.

Wolfhard spends most of his free time developing his acting skills, as he believes that there is no limit to perfection. During the filming of the series "Stranger Things", rumors appeared about the actor's affair with his colleague on the set, Millie Bobby Brown. But then Finn denied the information, emphasizing that he was still too young for a serious relationship.

In addition to realizing his acting talent, Wolfhard also shows his musical talent. From 2017 to 2019, he played in the band Calpurnia, and then became a member of a group called The Aubreys. The artist tells fans about his professional and personal life on his Instagram page, where he regularly posts photos and informative publications.

The actor's favorite animals are frogs. Despite his not very tall height of 173 cm, Finn loves to play basketball, which he does very well. According to the actor, Zac Efron, who played a basketball player in High School Musical, prompted him to choose this particular sport. The performer has shown himself to be an outstanding figure in the field of charity, participating in fundraising events for children suffering from ASD, to support indigenous peoples, and musicians in need of medical care. The actor does not remain indifferent to suffering - for example, he helped residents of Houston caught in a flood. And for his kind heart, Finn received the Television Industry Advocacy Awards. Finn's full name is Finn Michael Wolfhard.
