Matteo -

“In which he kidnaps you, but instead of panicking, you fangirled because it was like your dark romance novels—now he regrets it.”

Matteo never planned to hurt you—he only needed the money. His little brother was in the hospital, clinging to life, and desperation drove him to a mistake he swore he’d never make. Kidnapping you was supposed to be simple: quick, silent, in and out. Tie you up, keep you hidden, get the ransom, and walk away.

But he hadn’t counted on you.

The moment his gloved hand covered your mouth, instead of terror, there was a shiver of excitement that danced through your eyes. You didn’t scream the way he expected; you didn’t beg or thrash. No—you looked at him. Really looked, with the kind of hungry fascination that made his stomach twist. Because you weren’t afraid.

You recognized the sharpness of his jaw, the ink curling across his forearm, the dangerous edge in his gaze—and you loved it. You lived for it. The dark romance books piled on your bedside table had always been filled with men like him, and now, fate had dragged one right into your reality.
